I'm still shocked at how fast the DNS changed

Usually you have to wait about 24 hours for things like that to change.

Its probably changed for some people, others may be still seeing the old site.

I can't see the homepage...

But you can see the forums? Strange. Give it some time it will all start working properly again. It all depends on how often your ISP updates their DNS servers.

So we're no longer under Gaming Source?

No.

Sonic maybe you can fix that network bar? It stretches the page horizontally which is unneeded.

Welcome to Freedom. :D

No, Gaming Source were good to us and I thanked Robin for helping us out last year by giving us a place to call home. But it was time to move on.

Thierry, check your e-mail, new ftp details for you.

The Rebellion site has been fully restored and update to fit in to the Freedom network.

I noticed that to and Fenring has to fix that, I e-mailed him about it.

Fastest server in a long while... quite something.. as I said it's great that there are no errors, and there are no loading times. The moment I click it flicks over to the next page with everything on screen instantly... This is superb!!

All hail Fenring...

Agreed :D

Welcome to Icetex (Revora server where other networks like Freedom Studios are hosted) :). I hope you enjoy it. It's quite fast and has a very high uptime. And yea, this server rocks.. at least it's being very good to PPM (site that I run) as well.

I whistle in your general direction. Even my comp (which leaves a lot to be dizired) loads this site in a snap.

I don't know exactly why it does it. It's almost as if the script can't handle an overflow (doesn't do it on IE by the way).

I think I know what's causing it.

When you load a page in IE the vertical scroller is already there even if the page doesn't require it.

However in Firefox this scroller only appears after the browser has recognised the page is long enough to warrant a vertical scroller.

What I think is happening, is the network bar is assuming the page is fully loaded in FireFox, which it isn't, and loading itself to 100% width.

Now, when a vertical scroller appears after this network bar has decided it's at 100%, the page strecthes horizontally because the bar thinks the user has minimised the screen.

Were you getting errors when trying to upload the avatar image?

I noticed a permisson setting on the avatar upload directory was wrong. It should work now.

That was a very smooth server move, and the new server is definately nice and fast :)

It was probably the smoothest server move we have ever had. With in 10-15 minutes of changing the DNS for the domain I could see the site on the new server and we got everything uploaded damn fast.

The only problem I had was my first attempt to restore the database for the forums, it failed the the first time using phpMyAdmin, it worked the second time using the CPanel restore option.

Yes it did. So, this thing is all right now. :D

BTW that was some blasted fast page loading there
