The name says it all: Which of the four USA drones do you think is the most useful? And what ones do you use the most?

Personally I like the Battle and Sentry Drones. Battle Drones are the only vehicle-attached drone that can repair the parent vehicle, and Sentry Drones are very nice for ambushing enemy troops before they can capture that Oil Derrick or Reinforcement Pad... :D

Hellfire Drone

The only drone that works against infantry.

Seeing as how laZer tanks suck against them and hum-vees take too long to build.

Who needs a drone that can fix your tanks when they can already repair themselves?

not to mention the emergency repair ability

Battle Drone, works ok against infantry and can fix your tank.

(PS Sentry Drone is a different type of drone, as in it can't fly)

I know about the Sentry Drone, Theirry. I just thought it should be included because of the fact that it's a Drone, and I know if I didn't include it, people would whine, "Why didn't you include the Sentry Drone? That's a drone too!"

So I thought ahead.

Dosen't matter whether or not it had to be attached to a vehicle...but if you really want to be PC about it you can ignore the Sentry Drone. :P

I prefer spy drone. They give you large vision of surroundings and are able to detect stealth unit. I love when my enemy's hero was revealed while sneaking by spy drone. Hehehe......round 'em up.

I usually only use Spy Drones for Tomahawk Launchers and Microwave Tanks...otherwise the Search and Destroy Battle Plan basically does the same thing. But to all units.

arent they in the Boss generals mod?

anyway, i also like the spy drone, i usually use it on the humvees, and battle drones for the tanks. i never use hellfire, it does too little damage.

sentry drones are nice, i never give them the machine gun though, they reveal their positions whenever enemies are nearby, i just like to keep them around the map stealthed and keeping the map open to my eyes

Looks great! However I downloaded it, and the .exe won't open...dunno why...and I'm not sitting through 35-friggin'-megs over dail-up again.

I can't really see the Repair drone very well..maybe you can get a close-up screenshot of one and post it?

Heh, that pictures makes it seem like just a big coloumn of Laser Tanks.

Ahhh I see now.

Ehh....well, considering that they aren't part of the original Zero Hour, I don't think they'll be included. Too late now anyway. :P

Why does the Repair Drone look like a puppy on wheels...?

hellfire drone is horrible, i never pick it, spy drone is good for humvees as scouts. battledrone is useful to repair a tank force. usually my tank force will have a few spydrones and the rest battle drones.

But spy drone is best for humvee, it can really let u see far, it has a great sight range. u have to use it effectively to appreciate its full value

Hellfire's may be somewhat better than Battle Drones when it comes to killing infantry, but what if you had a bunch of Paladins and you moved them close enough for their laser to zap the offending infantry, or to just run 'em down, when at them same time, the Hellfire Drones launch their missle?

Say buh-bye to a tank or three.

Plus their's the fact that Hellfire Drones can't repair vehicles like Battle Drones can...hehe..I suppose it depends on what your enemy sends at ya.

If I'm playing against the Infantry General, for example, I'll definalty use Battle Drones.

Though if it's the Tank General? Hellfire Drones.

And can Ambulances can repair drones as well? Since when? I thought they only healed Infantry... :? :?

Spy Drones + a bunch of Tomahawks + Search and Destory Battle Plan = a long string of curse words from your opponent...

Ambulances repair ALL units...... think they might repair aircraft above them..... they do repair drones and tanks.

also a Chinnok has a larger LOS than a spy drone

hehe, Chinooks can see for miles around....

Ive always used The Bombardment battel plan to increase firepower, (BTW the artilley cannon is pretty good for killin stuff) but i guess I should expand out a bit.

Erm...only if the units in question are stationary. Which they hardly are. Patriots/EMP Patriots/Laser Turrets are better at defending the Strategy Center.

I always use Search and Destroy. Only times I'll ever have another strategy implemented is when I have three Strategy Centers at once, in which case all three battle plans will be used at once.

What makes having three Strategy Centers even better, is that if you have a Chinese -and- a GLA base as well as three USA bases with their own Strategy Centers while using all three battle plans, well, let's just say that your enemy is..well...very screwed...:twisted:

Depends... I usually combo 2 Spy Drones in a large group of USA Vehicles, then all other vehicles are equipped with Battle Drones... And Sentry Drones? Just forward units, in stealth mode, to see in advance the enemy movements... I don't really have any other use for them...
