Alphabear 11 Posted October 4, 2005 obviously the playstations iconic characters arnt that iconic as the only one i recognise there is snake and if you said that name in a conversation that had nothing to do with consoles i probable wouldnt have a clue who you are talking about. even people on my msn couldnt tell me who they all are Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted October 4, 2005 Bah.. The PS2 got GTA games first.. So they ruled for that fact alone... Though I'm reasonably sure that, that "exclusive" right for the Sony Consoles has expired or something... Not sure what Rockstar games are doing... Though I did read something to that effect somewhere... Share this post Link to post

The name alone should be enough. Bah.. The PS2 got GTA games first.. So they ruled for that fact alone... Too bloody right...lol Share this post Link to post

Though I did read something to that effect somewhere... Yep you are correct there... Rockstar had a 5 game deal with Sony to produce exclusively for the Sony consoles... The contract has now expired since San Andreas. The next "multiformat" GTA will be released on all formats at the same time. Only exception to the contract is Liberty City stories, since it is PSP only. Share this post Link to post
Guest MadBadger Posted October 4, 2005 lol Rockstar will prob renew it with sony anyway the deal was so damn lucrative. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted October 4, 2005 When ever I hear about game companies signing agreements to keep games exclusive to one console I think to myself WHY??? They are shooting themselves in the foot by limiting their customer base. And can we drop the whole PS2 vs XBox war? There is no "best" console. Its a matter of personal taste. If you like PS2 buy one, if you like Xbox buy one of those. Just don't going around saying PS2 is better and Xbox sucks  I bought an Xbox because I got a great deal, I liked the look of the crystal Xbox console........ ..... not because I thought PS2 sucked. F15pilotX 4 Posted October 4, 2005 Cool, that one looks good; ur probably right; it's just like the creation/evolution thing: I won't change Acerz's mind, and he won't change mine Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted October 4, 2005 :rockbrow: Drop it.. When ever I hear about game companies signing agreements to keep games exclusive to one console I think to myself WHY???They are shooting themselves in the foot by limiting their customer base. Not necessarily mate. That's how Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo get people to buy their consoles; by making certain games exclusive to a console (Example: Halo on the Xbox, GTA on the PS2, and Zelda on the 64/Gamecube), they attract more people and therefore get more sales in their consoles. Mind you there are some people out there who have practically every single console made (the guys at Penny Arcade, anyone? ). Think about it this way: If Red Alert 3 was released on the PS3, and ONLY on the PS3, how many people would go out and buy a PS3? Try almost every single CnC fan. Sony, and EA, would make millions just off of those two products. Share this post Link to post

Sony and EA, now that would be a force to be reckoned with.. so much so, they'd probably attempt to take each other over  That does make for interesting thought that partnership I must admit... not that it would happen... F15pilotX 4 Posted October 4, 2005 But think if one -somehow- did take the other over  Unstoppable to bad it'll never happen.... Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted October 5, 2005 I may prove to be a good business man one day... Bah, stuff that. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted October 5, 2005 Isn't Sony a hell of a lot larger than EA.. Since they make so many products as opposed to EA, games only... Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted October 5, 2005 The Playstation have 3 iconic figures: Cloud Strife, Sephiroth, and as Madbadger's already pointed out, Solid Snake. Those three characters alone are the reason the PS is just that much better than the 64.. I'm sure there are many more, but those three stand out above the rest. Dude, Cloud and Sephiroth are not iconic PS1 characters. They're from FF7, which isn't even a PS exclusive. It was released on the PC as well. They do not count, nor will ever count. Snake isn't even an PS icon since he was on the Xbox as well. I even have that game. Nintendo has well above 3 icons: Mario, Link, Zelda, Samus, Peach, Bowser, Donkey Kong, etc etc etc... The list goes on for quite some time... Sony, nor Microsoft, can hold a candle to Nintendo's franchises. Goldeneye is just another Bond game. Zelda was good, I admit that. Perfect Dark got old fast, and Conker didn't phase me one bit. No, the new ones are "just Bond games." GoldenEye is the one true Bond game since it kicked so much ass. Dude, Perfect Dark is the king of 64 multiplayer games. It plays like GoldenEye and has ten times the options. It's leet in a box. Conker, well, uh yeah. Conker was just in there for the humor factor... That game rawked out loud. No really, it did. Too bad Rare had to go all sell out on everyone though. In short, Nintendo > all. Alphabear 11 Posted October 9, 2005 Perfect dark was cosidered in some ways to be a golden eye sequal even though its a completely different story. Goldeneye weapons were in the glass cases in the walls of the shooting range and could be unlocked for use in the missions aswell as some goldeneye maps were there for multiplayer Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted October 9, 2005 That owns all. I had tons of good times with that thing. Still do. I like Nintendo, but I hated the gamecube, so I bought the PS2 instead. I had fun times with that thing. Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted October 11, 2005 Yeah, that's the problem, Nintendo didn't follow the N64 with that great of a gamesystem...hopefully the Revolution will surpass the Gamecube tremendously :? Share this post Link to post

F15pilotX 4 Posted October 15, 2005 Lol, it was awsome when there was no new systems, and the 64 still owned all Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted October 15, 2005 Lol, it was awsome when there was no new systems, and the 64 still owned all Well, the one I am talking about owned the 64, and it came before it. The NES was the coolest. Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted October 17, 2005 I've never played it, but if the NES pwned the 64, it definitley PWNED ALL Share this post Link to post
Azrael 0 Posted October 21, 2005 360 rules... It's the only one with a proper hard drive, but PS3 might have one hard drive that's optional for FF MMOGs... But I'm still going for 360, it looks coller for me... Share this post Link to post
