I'm a PS3 player, and we all remember what happened on the day of the release of the original X-box, and the size comments...

PS3 isn't really technologically advanced... The Xbox 360 really owns all, it's like a trimmed down PC, which is still alot...

They're called blueray discs.. They can hold 25GB on one layer. So dual layer discs would be able to hold 50GB...

Normal DVDs hold 4.7 Gig of space on single layer, with about 9.2GB Dual Layer.

X-Box 360 discs can hold about 10GB Single layer and 20.8GB Dual Layer.

Blue Ray as luk3us said can hold 25.6GB Single layer and 52GB Dual Layer...

There is now a huge consideration to whether or not Sony are to sign a patent allowing the Blue ray to become the new universal disc for movies, storage, etc. I know Philips will be pissed, since they hold the DVD patent.

Something also tells me that if they do, they'll utilise the UMD as well.. Sony are already prototyping the Blue Ray & UMD players which connect to the TV like a DVD player would.
