Saracen 16 Posted October 3, 2005 This is slightly different than the other movie threads, where I ask you what upcoming movies interest you... simple enough really.. The movie that has caught my eye, is in fact the firrst in a movie trilogy. Made in Russia it' a Horror/Sci-Fi/Fantasy movie called Nightwatch. Just after we've lived through Lord of The Rings and we can't even imagine another movie spellbinding us. along comes Timur Bekmambetov's fantasy masterpiece. Timur is an astonishing visionary and Nightwatch is an epic of extraordinary power. Lord of The Rings and The Matrix have a true successor... Nightwatch is on it's way and the bar has been raised... Acerz492 1 Posted October 4, 2005 Hmm, well, as some people may know, I'm a real big fan of Final Fantasy VII. The sequel, Advent Children, has already come out in Japan and the USA, but seeing as there hasn't been a confirmed release date for the UK yet, I'm not sure when it'll be hitting NZ shores. For more info, check out The Final Fantasy VII Citadel, a really good website that's been around..well, forever it seems. Share this post Link to post

NZ release - due 27th December..... http://www.gpstore.co.nz/DVDs/1472920.html They made a movie out of Doom. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?! Yeah I caught the Doom preview on TV the other day. Looks great. They even recreated the FPS elements from the games in the movie by using an first person camera view. The movie stars the The Rock as Sarge. All the familiar monsters are in it, you only see quick shots of them in the preview but they look big and nasty. And the chainsaw it in to!!! Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted October 4, 2005  Wooot! Cheers Sonic! Can't wait for the Doom movie either! Share this post Link to post
Guest Rabbit Posted October 4, 2005 Maybe you should make this *sticky* like the music one. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted October 4, 2005 I'm kinda interested in how "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe comes along.. I use to love the books so I suppose it would be nice to see it in "zee real world"... The movie stars the The Rock as Sarge. All the familiar monsters are in it, you only see quick shots of them in the preview but they look big and nasty. And the chainsaw it in to!!! The Rock? Hmm... As long as he doesn't do any "moves"... Should be interesting... Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted October 4, 2005 I don't expect to see any wrestling moves in the Doom movie. But I guess he will work his raised eyebrow thing in it at some point :rockbrow: Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted October 4, 2005 Actually Sonic, there is a contract all movie makers must sign if they require a wrestler to be in a movie. I know 3 of the Terms and conditions of this contract. 1) If a WWE superstar is to be used in any movies then the film maker has to pay the superstar his WWE salary for the amount of time he is hired + an additional fee for taking the role in the movie + commission to WWE. 2) WWE and WWE Films are to claim joint ownership with the movie publisher to which the WWE superstar is starring. All movies must also contain the WWE Films brand within the title and end credits.. 3) If a WWE superstar is to be used in any movies then the WWE gains exclusive rights for the starring wrestler to use at least one wrestling maneouver and/or signature WWE trademark for the said wrestler during any time during the main performance. This must either be incorporated into an action scene or be part of the movie's script. Share this post Link to post

This must either be incorporated into an action scene or be part of the movie's script. All that may be true but what people forget these days is the fact that legally Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) is no longer under contract with the WWE. If you look at the full credits lists on IMDB for movies like The Scorpion King (2002), The Rundown [aka Welcome to the Jungle (Australia) (UK)] (2003), Walking Tall (2004) you will notice Vince McMahon's name listed as an executive producer, with movies like Be Cool (2005) and Doom (2005) Vince McMahon is not an executive producer and WWE Films have nothing to with them. The Rock and WWE have parted company now Wow... The Rock has a lot of movies in the works..... - Instant Karma (2005/I) (in production)- Johnny Bravo (2005) (announced) .... Johnny Bravo - Blowback (2006) (announced) - Ride Along (2006) (pre-production) - Spy Hunter (2006) (pre-production) .... Alec Sects - Gridiron Gang (2006) (post-production) .... Sean Porter - Southland Tales (2006) (post-production) .... Boxer Santaros Share this post Link to post
J-Fire_Man 0 Posted October 5, 2005 I have watched FFVII: Advent Children. A good movie. Far better than the crappy Spirit Within. The graphic is awesome and the battle scene is as cool as in the game. However, the movie duration is too short for an FF movie only around 2 hours, so there are some weird story points. And surprisingly, Rufus didn't suffered much damage after blasted by the weapon. So, I give this movie 9.5 out of 10 for the graphic (it's superb), 9 out of 10 for the effects, 7 out of 10 for the story, 9 out of 10 for the battle scene. There are many things which can do in 3D animation where we can't do in the real word. This movie is a must see for FF fans. And for the future, since I'm holiday today, I want to watch some Japanese and US horror movies. Share this post Link to post
