It updates at the interval you set in the Gadget's options. Currently I have it set to update every hour.

Have you not heard of data caps becoming prevalent in our country? I keep up with the news on the web about ISPs and stuff so I guess maybe that's why I know... maybe if you don't you would never know otherwise
