I'm using 1680 x 1050. But I guess the homepage header needs fixing. Even though it's not that noticeable and most people still use lower resolutions, unless of course you want your site to be perfect

Oh and the forum headers are ok, I don't see any repeats.

The header image for forums is 1900px, the header images on the site are only 1600px. Its not about making it look perfect, its about fixing problems as the arise.

There's an easy fix for that... background-repeat: none.

That's a good idea

eh, 1440x900 ftw ^_^

That's my monitor's max resolution as well. And I like it big!

I remember the days where 1024 x 768 was just absolutely massive, and we'd never use that resolution, because there never seemed to be any reason to. Nowadays, that resolution is just too bloody small :P

I'm thinking of getting a new 22" widescreen monitor next month. An early Christmas present for myself. Currently on my 19" LCD I use the native 1280 x 1024. Looking forward to jumping to 1680 x 1050.

I would consider jumping to a higher res but it'd kill the FPS in games that I play :x:

That's what I was thinking about as well. I'm sure my system consisting of a 3GHz Core2Duo/9600GT/2GB DDR2 800 will handle RA3 at 1680 x 1050 pefectly fine but FarCry 2 could be a different story.

shove an extra gig of RAM in that machine and nothing should be an issue ;)

Tip: Higher resolution gives you a bit of an advantage. B) Well, it did for me. I love my 22" monitor on 1680 x 1050, every C&C game looks fantastic on it.

I still use 1024x768. :P

Kinda sad really, i've been on 1280x1024 for the longest time, recently to 1600x1200 (PS. if you have an LCD pannel, you need to use full resolution, or it will scale and all the pixels will be different shapes/sizes)

1024x768 for me aswell, and by the stats it's the 2nd most used monitor on the site.

My notebook is locked at a max of 1024x768 and my LCD on my desktop looks like ass at 1280x1024.

That's not entirely accurate. Each LCD screen (depending on it's size) has a native resolution for which it has an optimum display. for 17 inches it's 1024 x 768, 19 inches is 1280 x 1024, 21 inches is 1440 x 1024, 22 inches is 1680 x 1050. With larger screens (26 inch and above), that's when you start hitting true High Definition at an optimum resolution of 1920×1080.

my old computer has about a 16in CRT. whats the best?

Look the model # up and find out. The inches thing is a guess for each size. I know some 19"s have 1280x768 as their native... And according this search CRTs do not have a native.
