THEY DON'T OWN WARCRAFT. C&C is an entirely different chunk of the market, and still profitable. Why else would the acquire it??

An exempli gratis? Why thank you! But no, they are doing it for the money, like every (profitable) company. Smaller studios like Westwood don't have as much pressure to contribute to the bottom line, so there is some more room for artistic integrity... but that gets squashed to a certain extent with big companies like EA.

I like the C&C decade grahpic though... It could be a game, all old C&C games converted into a new engine...

Well we are closer to finding out what the all hype is about...

 

The actual news isn't available just yet, only a teaser image. At the time of this post the Official Generals Site is there but with a new image and the words "Command & Conquer The First Decade" and coming soon in it.

 

 

What "Command & Conquer The First Decade" could be is anyone's guess. So until EA reveal this interesting news please continue to discuss it.

Re-release of all games in a single package? Older games updated onto the newer engine? News of upcoming games? Armo(u)red Attack and Attack Copter for download as "Zero Hour Plus One".

 

Hopefully not just an extended "my memories of CnC" feature or a "CnC through the years" picture archive.

 

Umm... I am not sure what to expect now...But I like the use of the term "The First Decade". Makes it sound as if they are expecting a second one....

Both retailers listed in the Google search are South African - Take 2 and Kalahari. Perhaps they have just jumped the gun by listing the title too early.

 

Seems to be a trend recently as EA just started distributing Valve software Half Life 1 and Counterstrike Anthologies when Vivendi were given the boot.

 

Goes off to search for more combinations of "Command & Conquer The First Decade" - LOL!!

If its anything to do with a new C&C game it will be a HUGE boost for the C&C community.

 

That is exactly what the community needs. Really they only need to say 6 (ish) words "We are making another C&C game". Come on EA, just tell us that one is in development, come out & say it. It'll get a lot of people to shut up right away. Heck a logog or concept art will make everyone happy.

It'll only show you the two sites mentioned above... it's interesting though.

 

I am REALLY HOPING that it is not just the anthology, but maybe that and some news of "we have started production" or "we are 6 months into making the next game".

 

But hey. An anthology will do for the minute at least....
