Cygnus X-1 12 Posted December 6, 2005 the proper term is pwnage yes yes indeed. I would love to fly for the USAF, but my vision, tsk tsk, its a killer. its bad, not as bad as they say, but most deffintely cant get into airforce with it. then again theres the music Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted December 6, 2005 Eh, flying jet planes would be cooler than being in a band, in my opinion. I mean, you rarly get to blow **** up when you're in a band, right? Share this post Link to post

Cygnus X-1 12 Posted December 8, 2005 who said bands never blew stuff up  besides, you gotta have a war to do that. And persoanlly, I would rather wait until the X-Wing gets on the market Share this post Link to post

Acerz492 1 Posted December 8, 2005 Bleah, I'd rather be content with a Lightsaber and leave it at that. That'll satisfy my Star Wars nerdy-ness for a good while. Share this post Link to post

Azrael 0 Posted December 9, 2005 Well, Luisa's my 5th GF... But that;'ll be the last... Cuz I'll never have another... I've grown... I've already felt how it is to be heart broken for the first time before Luisa and me... So I promise I won't do what I did a long time ago again... I know how it feels to be in the shoes of my ex-GFs for the first time... And I don't want Luisa to feel that way... Share this post Link to post

And that's just a beautiful reminder of how pointless and destructive drugs are dude. You wish society wasn't so powerful? What would you prefer? Anarchy? The sad truth is that you have to conform, and really it's not so bad. Things are the way they are for a reason. Don't knock the status quo just for the hell of it  It almost seems that you wish society would conform to you... or that you want it abolished altogether. In the first scenario, would that really be fair to everyone else?? In the second scenario... well, I won't even dignify the anarchist point of view with a response  Share this post Link to post

Also i meant to say i hate the pressure it puts on you...did anyone ever see that movie about a comic..i think it was American beauty...about this guy harvy pekar who hated the american dream because it was so hard to obtain for him... :?: ...you know what i used to think a while back? like instead of states having diff laws...like bring laws into peoples houses and anyone can do almost anything on their property ...doesnt sound so simple but... BWare 0 Posted December 10, 2005 ....so anarchy in other words. You need laws, you need them imposed on you, and you need some degree of forced conformity, no matter how much "pressure" it puts on you. You see, the biggest problem with the line of thought you've mentioned is that it assumes the "American dream" and all the prosperity out there is just handed to you, or that you're somehow the victim of luck. The fact is that it can only come from hard work, and no one ever promised that it would be easy! America is the land of opportunity... not the land of handouts  The opportunity is there if you're willing to work your ass off to get it. Your success is directly tied to how badly you want it and how hard you're willing to work. If you're not willing to put the time in, don't be expecting to be living the American dream. Doctor Destiny 41 Posted December 10, 2005 There's no such thing as forced conformity. No one has to think the same or be the same. Laws are put in place to make a distinction between right and wrong. It has no effect on your thoughts or emotions, which is where conformity lies. The opportunity is there if you're willing to lie, cheat, steal, swindle and corrupt others. Fixed. Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted December 10, 2005 With that attitude Fenring, you won't succeed, and you'll blame everyone else, and call those who worked hard and stayed optimistic thieves, cheaters, and swindlers. That is not fair, and that pointless cynicism will get you nowhere. And yes, there must be some conformity on every level, including how you think. It's just necessary for society to work. I'm absolutely anti conformity when it gets out of hand, don't get me wrong, but I'm mature enough to not be anti-conformity just for the hell of it  Wouldn't you agree that sociopaths like murderers and rapists need to have their "thoughts and emotions" conformed to the societal norm? I sure as hell think so. People need boundries, plain and simple. Children rebel against them, and eventually grow out of that childishness, accept them, and deal with them. Well, some of us grow up. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted December 10, 2005 BWare, are you a political speaker by any chance  that is very true, if you arent willing to put the tiem and effort in, well sux for you You get out of it what you put into it very generic, but very true Share this post Link to post

That is not fair, and that pointless cynicism will get you nowhere. I'm not trying to live your fabled American dream, which, in this day and age is nothing more than having expensive **** you don't need and can't afford. I'm not saying that everyone who acieves prosperity is a liar or a thief but you have to admit that many do exactly that to sleaze their way to the top. You know, it's not pointless cynicism if there's realist quaities to it. And yes, there must be some conformity on every level, including how you think. It's just necessary for society to work. I'm absolutely anti conformity when it gets out of hand, don't get me wrong, but I'm mature enough to not be anti-conformity just for the hell of it  No there doesn't. You sound like a mindless drone that's conditioned to believe the bull**** constantly spewed by the government. It's nothing more than blah blah blah to me. Conformity is mind control; it's a way to control people against their will. At least, that's the way I see it... Forcing people to believe the same ideas and feel the same emtions takes away individuality, which is one step closer to the government assuming complete control. I do hope you're not that blind. Wouldn't you agree that sociopaths like murderers and rapists need to have their "thoughts and emotions" conformed to the societal norm? I sure as hell think so. People need boundries, plain and simple. Children rebel against them, and eventually grow out of that childishness, accept them, and deal with them. Well, some of us grow up. No, not really. Why force them to be like everyone else SO LONG as they keep it to themselves. However, I realize that that would be a long shot so that's why we have laws, prisons and rehab centers. Those things do not exist because we want them to. I agree about boundaries but only on outward behavion, not what you feel inside. I like how you allude to the fact that you think I haven't "grown up." Guess what pal, I don't speak so fervently for my health. I hold a far different opinion than you do so you better get used to it. Share this post Link to post

BWare 0 Posted December 10, 2005 I'm not trying to live your fabled American dream, which, in this day and age is nothing more than having expensive s*** you don't need and can't afford. Okay, sure.... so you have a computer with internet access. Is that something you truly need? Who are you to tell people what they need or don't need? I have some things because I want them... what's wrong with working hard to get them if you want them? People shouldn't be restricted to the bare essentials... and that's the American dream. Try living in a different oppressed country for a while... I know a few Cubans really well who actually understand this, and who can't sit back comfortably after being in Amercia their whole lives and critcize our hard earned wealth and prosperity. LEARN TO LOVE IT, and grab a piece of the pie! I'm not saying that everyone who acieves prosperity is a liar or a thief but you have to admit that many do exactly that to sleaze their way to the top. Sure, but why is that so important? It doesn't mean you have to... and it doesn't hurt you in any way! Get over it! You know, it's not pointless cynicism if there's realist quaities to it. Oh yes it is. It's pointless if it just embitters you and gets you nowhere. No there doesn't. You sound like a mindless drone that's conditioned to believe the bull**** constantly spewed by the government. It's nothing more than blah blah blah to me. Conformity is mind control; it's a way to control people against their will. At least, that's the way I see it... You need some level of conformity dude... not total dominance, but you have to learn to live and compromise with other people. You can't do what you want, when you want, no matter what, regardless of what you "feel" inside. Hence the maturity aspect of this I talk about- you need to learn to master and control those feelings, or society will reject you... and guess what? IT'S YOUR FAULT. Oh, and thanks for calling me a "mindless drone." All things considered, I think I defend my point of view pretty well  I like how you allude to the fact that you think I haven't "grown up." Guess what pal, I don't speak so fervently for my health. I hold a far different opinion than you do so you better get used to it. This after calling me a mindless drone for disagreeing with you! I have absolutely no problem with your opinion on this- I just think it's wrong. Not horribly wrong, and I don't think you're an idiot, but I just think it's a bit off. Nothing personal.
