Good bookss. Although I hear the movie is good, it doesnt cover the story line adequately enough. (as in all movie-book deals, except Lord of the Rings)

Narnia was a bit too childish for me

I thought V for Vendeta was great.

Lord of the Rings movies still missed out so much of the books.. I mean how on earth could they have left out Tom Bombadil, he is perhaps one of the best characters in the book. Powerful, funny, and wise. Such a great all rounder, and does have alot of influence within the books.

My :2c: anyway.

That was one film I can't believe I missed in the Cinemas. Just gotta wait for the DVD now. One thing I have certainly noticed now though is that the Comic book films are becoming of great quality nowadays. Not like the poorly produced crap such as the early Batman Films and such.

I never realised it was a comic until i saw the logo at the start. The thing i liked about it was the similarities between it and 1984.

HA! Copying 1984 is nothing new or original. In V for Vendetta, the 1984 overtones were VERY poorly done... it was really a complete mess from a thematic point of view. Overall, it was up there with Fantastic 4 for worst in this recent blitz of comic book inspired movies. Seriously, it really wasn't good at all. Besides a couple good Matrix-esque action scenes, it was a complete waste of time. Don't bother renting it unless you want to be disappointed :P

i agree that V for Vendetta was pretty bad...not very fulfilling

on the other hand..

CHRONICLES OF NARNIA...according to my intelligent friend...kept up with book 2, as i recall, very well...

also, it was a pretty dam good movie.....well balanced between action and drama and whatnot....

I sensed a hint of analogy and representation...the lion resembles jesus...and one of the brothers resembles judus :?:

FUN WITH DICK AND JANE-

not bad...some really funny parts...overall-6....good revenge plot at the end

I think the comic book films are getting worse and worse. The Hulk was terrible. Xmen should have been so much better, ditto with X2. Spiderman and Spiderman 2 were just lame, Batman Begins was pretty good. Fantastic 4..dont even go there.

I hear V for Vendetta was weird, but generally liked. Having read 1984 (unlike all the people I know who saw it) I'll have to see for myself.

Yeah, that was a great movie. And yes, the allegories run VERY deep there. The lion does represent Jesus, and the brother who betrays them represents both Judas and humanity in general. You know how, in the movie, the innocent lion gives up his life and dies a humiliating death despite his power because of what one idiot did? It's a brilliant picture of Christ's death for us to atone for our sins... That's basically the whole point of the movie... pretty much everything in it relates in some way to the biblical message. CS Lewis was a genius.

yes...

but i especially liked how he portrayed the same morals without making it specifically religious...also the graphics kicked ass.......

again i like how morals are illustrated through more natural and ambiguous techniques

It was not portraying morals dude... it was a direct allegory to the gospel message of the Bible.

And Inferno, are you kidding me? Did you actually like that movie?

You know, it's very telling when they can't book VIN DIESEL for the sequel

Vin Disesel wasn't in it, cause he wanted to do, The Chronicles of Riddick instead.... Gee, that was a smart move on his part. :P haha..

It's sad, because it had such great potential... I mean, a modern James Bond movie! If executed better, it could have been awesome. But instead it sucked.

Yeah all it turned out to be was another b-grade movie with lots of action. That is the way the american film industy seems to be going though unfortunatly.
