TheBlackOut 7 Posted May 21, 2006 Do you think C&C 3 should be hosted through XWIS or what they did with Generals/ZeroHour? Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted May 22, 2006 Alot of money went into transferring themultiplayer server load over to XWIS. It depends on so many factors it's unreal. So really it boils down to whether or not DonCarlo would be prepared to accept the huge server load, EA give them the funds for these servers, and whether or not EA will actually do it. EA have a huge corporate contract with Gamespy. It'll be something they'll consider I'd imagine. But I'd prefer the Renegade Method where by you can either choose Gamespy or XWIS to play on. Sonic 295 Posted May 23, 2006 Everyone hates GameSpy and I'd say all online multiplayer for C&C3 will be handled via GameSpy. Share this post Link to post

Inferno 22 Posted May 23, 2006 Why does everyone hate Gamespy? It works fine for me, I need only one program for all multiplayer stuff. And Luke's right, it will all turn out ok. Ever seen a RTS with not/bad-working multiplayer (except for the classics) ? Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted May 23, 2006 Because there are so many ads and problems with it. I was like "sweet, play a game of RA1 over gamespy! *click.. click... start up Red Al-------- POP UP.... AD.... SPAM!111... GIMME CReDIT CARD # AD LOL....* Share this post Link to post
Shocker 0 Posted May 23, 2006 And Luke's right, it will all turn out ok. Ever seen a RTS with not/bad-working multiplayer (except for the classics) ? Age of Empires III. Months after release, online games are still prone to frequent disconnects, crashes, mismatches and the like Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted May 24, 2006 Why does everyone hate Gamespy? It works fine for me, I need only one program for all multiplayer stuff. Well everything TheSovietBlackOut said plus its spyware. I used to have it installed for Renegade when I couldn't access WOL through my old ISP, but its no longer installed now but for some reason Spybot picks up some registry entry related GameSpy every damn time.
