Some how I don't think they intend that to be used the way you intend it to... ;)

You don't actually intend to buy that do you? Hundreds of dollars for a simple laser, that mostly just cost like 3 bucks.

Hey, I don't want to act like I'm the boss around here, but, badger, I'm pretty sure that last post was what got you in trouble a few weeks ago with C&C King.

That laser thing can't cut up anything probably. I mean, for a real lightsaber, lots of power is required, a magnetic field to hold together the high energy plasma that serves as the blade, etc.... But were coming close to that, what with the documentary I just saw... I'm not sure if it's real, but I'm 50/50 on this... You guys decide. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article13129.htm

Looks pretty real, that microwave and laser stuff... I don't like the looks of it though.

And for the plasma blade, it would be quite crappy in a fight, since it isn't a real material, you wouldn't be able to stop someone else's blade.

It's high-energy plasma, and a magnetic field holds it together, so it'll block another thing like it. Trust me.

yes it may block another one but something like a cricket bat would get through

Heh, still be fun to play with if your friend had another one...

And what was wrong with it? Defending our troops and police against voilent roiters and insurgents? Your deffinition of wrong is skewed, my friend.

I like that weapon, and I hope to Bob and back that we utilize it to protect our men and women in the field.

btw if your a child, pregnant women, or elderly, dont get in a riot. You'll get killed.

Hey, there was that part saying it could violate human rights... Also, that was close to torture... But what I'd give to get one of those anyway... Problem is, like that Los Alamos research guy said, "It hurts. It huts alot!" Anyway, I guess I won't stand a chance trying to defend my views with all of you, cuz I'm just a little guy, in a BIG forum...

P.S. Some children join in protests here in my country, so do elderly people, like that congressman whom I like... And take a look at the politial system here in the Philippines. The president bitch abuses her power so much, and the pre-emptive response to rallies? That was a whole lot of bull****! The rallies were peaceful, and what did the people get!? A beating! And if the current government here gets a hold of that IR-crowd control thing, things will REALLY go to hell in a handbasket.:furious: :flamer:

It all comes down to this people- you can't blame the technology for its misuse. Blame the people who choose to misuse it.

Well said BWare

r@zor - it'll be a while before we sell this to anyone. Heck, we only have 3 of them, it wouldnt make sense to let everyone else have them before we have fully inegrated the technology into our arsenal. So you probably wont have to worry about the "crowd control ray" for a few years yet.

Well said Cygnus. Sometimes weapons like this, and torture, are needed as a last resort. Of course, using a last resort first is often effective.

Back to the other badassery. I believe the lightsaber in Star Wars actually started out like this, from what I read.

Quite possibly, even Im not all too sure how Georgie came up with hte idea of a lightsaber. What I do know is that orginally everyone was going to have them, but hte Jedi Bendu (as they were called in that early stage of D) would have the Force in addition. Then he was all like "woooo lasers!!!"

and you've all seen the movies, so theres not much else to tell :P
