Saracen 16 Posted July 5, 2006 *Knock Knock* Hello? EA? You there? *Knock Knock* No answer it seems. I feel I'm missing something here. Where's the news already? Haven't we got C&C 3 in development? Yeah, that's what I thought. It's too damn quiet, and it's becoming frustratingly difficult to understand why echoes of the pre-C&C 3 doom and gloom are returning. Contact with Aaron himself has gone unanswered and to me it seems rather concerning. A trailer and a couple of images, plus numerous news on the same old info is all we've had so far, it doesn't seem enough over 2 months! Maybe I'm an info junkie, but I'm not used to EA's drip feed formula. I've tried e-mailing Aaron my concerns over the issue, but these go unanswered too! Looks like we'll have to bide some more time before we see some more info, but at the moment, there's not enough to sustain my interest in C&C 3. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted July 5, 2006 The tease you for a while and then break out the big guns. At least, I hope that's what EA is doing. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted July 6, 2006 Yeah, I concur with Beowulf. Besides, look on the bright side, even if we get no news, eventually we're get a game instead. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted July 6, 2006 Yes, but if dont stay informed, then they hit us with some crap, and hte community cant voice our opinions in time for anything. Dont these people understand? Yes you can make money off the market, but a community that likes you because you support your titles and keep them informed will help you make your titles that much better and even bring in a few extra bucks. Cygnus X-1 12 Posted July 6, 2006 They are completely busy with the release of Battle For Middle Earth II for XBox 360. I smell a lot of BS here.... It doesnt take 2 RTS teams to convert a game that is already made to another consol. Granted BFME2 is quite the game, but still. C&C3, if done right (heres hoping) has the potential to bring an entire community back onto EA soil, and if they keep it up with a great expansion, they start raking in the cash, the fans, and people quit complaining about EA for a while, if not longer. Of course, perhaps they are bidding their time so the next info release can be loaded with Nod info.... Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted July 7, 2006 I like to think this is the calm before the storm. Give it another couple months and the EA marketing machine will kick into overdrive. Share this post Link to post

Although they have several teams, they have only one community manager for both BfME and C&C series. The community manager is putting all his efforts on BfME II XboX 360 and since he and Verdu are our usual sources of C&C 3 news, we won't hear much from them in the next few weeks. Anyway, look at EA forums. APOC only posted on BfME II XBox 360 forums in this month. The last thing he posted on the normal BfME II forums was this post: Hey everyone, Been a busy week leading up to the launch of The Battle for Middle- earth II for Xbox 360, shipping next week and on store shelves July 7th. If you own an Xbox 360, you absolutely must get this game, it does the PC version complete justice and finally breaks the RTS genre on to the console properly, and no better than the Xbox 360 to do that. I've spent this week getting a lot of good coverage up and a new PODCAST. Check it all out at this link: http://www.ea.com/official/lordoftherings/...360/us/home.jsp On the BFME II PC front... So, once again, just going to politely ask for some patience :-) All efforts are focused on shipping the 360 version, and while we do that, i'm also working very hard on accomplishing some other big tasks. Patch 1.05 - the big balance patch. Next week, i will reveal more changes that are forthcoming from this massive patch which will hit this summer. I'm also checking in to a lot of the technical issues and seeing what can be done. Many being noted are minor trivial tech fixes, but nonetheless, everything is fair game. The MOD SDK will release by the end of the next week. We just got final approval by our legal department and now I need to get the installer completed. This has been a long enduring project and I want to make sure it goes out the door the right way, and not sloppily :-) I'm here on the boards, listening every day even though I am not always replying. Please understand in this time of launching a major game for the Xbox 360, my time has had to be dedicated to helping those efforts. We're working very hard on support for the PC game, so no worries, don't faint or anything! Have a great 4th of July weekend to those of you that celebrate it, i'll be a groomsment at a best friends wedding thru the 4th if you really want to know where APOC will be. Now thats some honesty! Cygnus X-1 12 Posted July 7, 2006 Very cool, if you're a BFMEII fan. But I am wondering, why only one communnity manager? Or maybe in times of "peace" there is no need for two, but in times of "war" the one is overtaxed?? Share this post Link to post
Banshee 28 Posted July 7, 2006 They pay the community manager very well. Although they have a lot of money, it seems to be rather expensive for them to hire another community manager for the RTS games. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted July 7, 2006 True. I am wondering how the community managers work for other genres. I would suppose its pretty much the same with RTS, they get overtaxed with new releases and new titles being worked on, and in "peace" they have relatively little to do, as opposed to the activity we see Arron up to now. and no, I cannot spell Share this post Link to post
Dr. Rodney McKay 0 Posted July 8, 2006 I honestly have no qualm with EA. I love big business. Yeah, like Sonic said, the calm before the storm. When they do deliver news, the entire community will spaz like bobcats on booze. No, you can't. <_< Share this post Link to post
