Doctor Destiny 41 Posted July 25, 2006 ... I drive a goddamn tank! Anyway, as some of you know, I drive a 1994 Dodge Caravan. It's taken quite a beating since we got it back in 1995. Been through all kinds of hits and family trips but it still keeps going with no major problems... there's a slight issue with the gas gauge going all wacko, displaying empty after I fill it up. Anyway... So it's lunchtime and I'm on my way onto 50 Highway. Because of previous incidents, I have to watch to see if any dip****s jump from highway to highway. I wouldn't have to if people weren't stupid but a few months ago, some idiot in a Silverado almost plowed right into my van. As I'm watching, some ****ing douche bag in a green Ford Taurus runs highway to highway like a moron. I thought it was no big deal but some lady in a Yukon XL banged right into the back of my van. It wasn't at any great speed but it was enough to get my heart pounding. I pull off to the side of the road, turn everything off and get out with a coworker, who is also a friend of mine... and my brother. The woman is apologetic but Ryan and I are really cool about it. It really wasn't a big deal since there was so little damage that I couldn't be angry... not to mention, it really wasn't her fault. I blame the Taurus driver for all of this. Anywho, I have a lovely paint swirl and a slight chip in the fiberglass... That's it. Seriously, you know it's quality when you take a shot from an uber-SUV. Like I said, I drive a tank. Tree 0 Posted July 25, 2006 You should have at least gotten like $100 out of her to "pay for the paint" Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted July 25, 2006 The roof is peeling and it's rusted all over the place. Am I really supposed to worry about my bumper having a swirl? Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted July 25, 2006 Meh, you and your "moral codes" Yes, damn me! Share this post Link to post

Cygnus X-1 12 Posted July 26, 2006 Yes the Roof is rusting, and the bumber is fiberglass very simple. btw - Saturn=plastic cars. Dont hit one, cause you'll jsut roll over it like a rabbit or sumthin. Share this post Link to post
Alphabear 11 Posted July 27, 2006 newer cars are more likely to crumple for saftey reasons. It helps protect the driver Share this post Link to post
Riparius 0 Posted July 27, 2006 You drive a van? Me too! Got a '94 Toyota Hiace that has a broken tailpipe and makes a nice growl. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted July 27, 2006 newer cars are more likely to crumple for saftey reasons. It helps protect the driver BY absorbing ost of the impact energy. Doesnt help the car at all. And if you're wearing a seatbelt, you're not going anywhere, aside from a really serious wreck. Solid steel all the way!!!!!!! Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted July 27, 2006 Solid steel is horrible. Your seatbelt stops your body frame, yes. But what happens to your suspended organs? That's right, they keep going at the same speed you car was... into your ribcage. Ever see someone die of massive internal bleeding? Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted July 27, 2006 I have seen some pretty bad pics. Both in a demonstration and my mom has shown us a few from her work (nurse practitioner) and by the solid steel comment I was refering to the carframe, as solid steel frames tend not to crumple unless smashed by a tank. Alphabear 11 Posted July 28, 2006 yeah the physical strain on your body in extreme deceleration or acceleration can be deadly. Newer cars are designed to bring this down to safer levels Share this post Link to post
Valaron 0 Posted July 28, 2006 Ever see someone die of massive internal bleeding? Pfffft... thats Nothing!! You should see the effect a person getting run over by a tank has!! Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted July 29, 2006 yes, but unlike you, he was being serious :tired: Share this post Link to post
MagicYuri 0 Posted July 30, 2006 Yeah dude. That... wasn't... quite funny you know. BTW I've seen a guy in a open toilet that blew his brains out with a Kalasznikov. Prette bad view... can't shake the sight out of my head since then. Oh yeah, and a couple of years ago: groups of chinese studs demonstrated agains the comunist regime on a Hong Kong (If I remember right) square. A few chinese military tanks ACCIDENTALLY turned most of them into pies Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted July 30, 2006 Couple of years ago? A Few Chinese students? Tinanemen square was back in the early 90's, several hundred people were killed/injured and it made global news a hundred times over. Share this post Link to post
