I like a challenge so I'll take stab at it. I'd say you live in the Netherlands. Am I right?

After some research I came up with the city Hoorn in Holland.

North-west of holland, in the nose of the province Noord-Holland.

It has a few places to go out, no disco. A lot of these places at situated around "De rode Steen". This is placed near the center of the city wich has quite some stores, but no big stores.

It recently lost all its movie-theaters and is currently building a theater for plays and such. This because the previous building collapsed during its construction.
