Its Official: The Aliens Are Called Scrin

In the recent C&C 3 newsletter, EA have finally recognized the third Alien Faction as Scrin, based on the decoded message. And Zee Hypnotist received some confirmation from our community manager, Predator, about the name as well.

 

The question remains though, why did EA wait so long use the name? What was gained by not calling them Scrin from the very beginning when they were revealed last December?

 

Either way, the Scrin are coming!

It's a bizarre situation and a great dissapointment to have it named as Scrin after all the speculation and frustration of the non-annoucement.

One question now:

Does the name Scrin now mean that those aliens ARE the creator of the tiberium, doesn't it? I mean: Is it certain that the Scrin created the Tiberium?

 

Btw.: I still didn't find out but where in the C&C-Series did the name Scrin appear?

Scrin first mentioned in Tiberian Sun... there is a mission to protect a scrin ship which is supposed to be alien, but plot indicates the ship probably built by Kane.

Strange: For some reason I don't remember that mission (was it becuase of the Tacitus)? At least not some mission in Tiberian Sun with the name Scrin mentioned.

Could it be that the name Scrin didn't appear in the German version of it?

C&C3: I will so or so buy the English Version as I did since Zero Hour (even if there is the Austria Edition but the English version is just better - in terms of voice actin a.s.o. and now I speak English which I didn't the time Tiberian Sun got released).

they confirmed at the petro forums that that ship was indeed made by kane/nod although now that EA are in control its up to them.

Who knows: Maybe Kane knew of the Scrin and that is way he is connected to the Tiberium? Or maybe even he is a Scrin

I wonder why EA dont just keep things quite and get the game done right? They seem to be awesome at blowing storylines for most games. Why not get at least a handful right? I hate them so...

Well it does now in my opinion. Kane wasn't supposed to be alien. Nod constructed the Scrin ship in TS. By calling the aliens the Scrin EA are effectively saying that Kane is an Alien.

Whatsoever... Either EA just made a storyline mistake or we will find out through playing C&C3...

 

But well: That somehow would fit if Kane was an alien. That would make sense why they didn't tell the name of the aliens yet and why Predator said in that code unlocking thread that maybe some of the biggest mysteries of C&C3 has been revealed... But we will see...

It also would make sense why Kane is that interested in Tiberium (and mutation)...

And in which (Nod?) mission did Kane say that he constructed that ship during the first Tiberian War?

He said the ship was constructed at the end of the last great war. He says that during the briefing before you have to go grab the tactics from the wreckage of the scrin ship. I think its like mission 6 or something...

Well im just glad that they are finally releasing the Scrin name. All this Alien Third Side name calling just got me irritated.

 

Now i just cant wait for the game. Like the concepts for the Scrin too, but something does confuse me.

 

Does the entire Scrin invasion force come within the mothership? Because it doesnt look that big from the concept.

Hopefully if it goes the way it was planned... GDI&NOD win and the earth is pretty much lost. This from a story I read on things to come in the TS world years ago. And Yes... I do believe it's not the mother ship.

I say the Earth is Screwed, what Nod (and invariably GDI) should do is comadere a few Scrin ships (you know, the big ones) then load them up, make a few of their own types (you gotta admit, the rough and tough GDI ships would be cool, but imagine some Nod ships.... ) then take it to the Scrin

 

Earth is pretty much screwed as far as humanity goes, it looks like only the Forgotten will reign there
