Where's the memory? I'm still not dismissing the fact I may be blind, but where is it?

Nothing has changed in my system except for my budget Raidmax power supply, It crapped out. I replaced it with a nice shiny new Silverstone Element ST50EF-Plus, 500W ATX PSU.

I'm so impressed by this PSU, it runs so silently.

Yeah except you have quite a crappy HD, how can you fit all your files and games and stuff on to 160GB? I'm already having trouble with 250.

With an external for all my torrent, storing all my games and music is pretty easy on my 250GB. I need a new VGU, my CPU and stuff is OK for now, but I'm starting to lack. nVidia just bought that PhysX company, and EPIC (makes UTIII engine) uses it, so TIBERIUM is gonna use it...

nVidia is gonna put PhysX on their 8800GTs and their new 9xxx series, can't wait!

If you don't have a rig that can run it, sure Vista can be a pain...but I've had a great experience with it so far.

I can run Vistaids on my machine but I don't want to. There's too much about it that bothers me.

XP Pro for me.

Instead of bitching about Vistaids, I'll post my machine.

Motherboard: ASUS P5VD2-VM Intel Socket T

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe 1.8 GHz

RAM: 2 GB of Kingston DDR2 667 (PC2 5300)

Video Card: nVidia GeForce 7900GS 256MB

Hard Drives: 1 x 200GB Western Digital (primary), 1 x Western Digital 160 GB (secondary/slave), 1 x 500GB Western Digital (external)

Media Drives: ASUS DVD/CD Reader/Burner with LightScribe

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (OEM)

Monitor: Hyundai ImageQuest 19" LCD

Speakers: 2 Altec Lansing speakers with subwoofer

However, I'm upgrading soon-ish. I'm getting an 8600GT and a new PSU, which I need suggestions on, and another 19" flat monitor.

Nice. Have you looked into the benchmarks for the 8600 though? The 7600 was a great card, but apparently the 8600 is a but underwhelming when it comes to performance. You may want to stick with the 7900 for a while, or look into the 8800 GS which you can get for something like 150 USD (pretty remarkable deal when it comes to price/performance).

But yeah, especially when it comes to gaming, Vista can at times be a bit sluggish and unreliable. But you need it for directx10!

Donno, I'd wait till the 9600GT is out. For the price they say it's going to be at, it's a pretty good deal.
