C&C 3 Community Summit #2

Recommended Posts

An emergency transmission has been broadcast for community leader conscripts to arrive at the EALA HQ in Blue Zone Los Angeles, California on Monday March 5th. Aparently APOC has been located and they need us to try the final code from the battlefield command software Command & Conquer 3.

I have been selected to be one of many conscripts to get the job done. I will be flying out at 1130 hours tomorrow morning for a rendevous with some international community members and eventually Predator himself for a mission briefing. From there we will commence operation "Community Summit" and test out the single player campaign.

However, I have been warned that while morale is high. Unrest amongst the soldiers is higher, and it is very likely we will also be thrust into fighting each other with mice and Keyboards in the Multiplayer component as well. If all goes according to plan, we will have in depth knowledge of all parts of the command software, and will probably be court marshalled and exiled. So I may return with goodies to tell you all when I get back.

But due to the nature of the sensitive information. I will be under the No Disclosure or be Assasinated clause or "NDA" for short. So there will be a time and a place for me to tell you. But just not right away.

I'll be seeing you guys when I get back. Over and out!

Just joking, but how do you qualify to be in a Community Summit?

I really would like to go to one.

It'd be nice this time if EA doesn't tell everything you have to say for you. :P:twisted:

It would be a nice event to attend. Its just not everyday EA plays host to a Command and Conquer Community Summit. :)

I always hoped to get invited to one. But I have no connections at all 8)

Ah well, this was my last chance to ever get invited to one. I'll never again be active enough to get invited to an EA event... my brief period of activity last year was not enough.

I guess I am tired of waiting for the The First Decade patch v1.03. I mean, who cares if you can no longer mod Generals due to flawed copy protection? They don't. And I cannot distribute the (illegal) NoCD patch of the original (!) game. A NoCD released in 2003 can fix the 2006 TFD version of Generals. I really doubt if any mod tools for C&C3 are coming. Maybe in 3 years... or 4 weeks after I have made my own, like happened for BfME . I won't try that again though, I'll just wait this time ;)

Maybe I should just say it out loud, that might be a relief. There will not be a C&C 3 editor inside TibEd. Not until they fix Generals. And maybe not even after they fix it (if they ever fix it).

King, make them remember their allegiance! Peace through power! One vision, one purpose: The technology of peace!

Meh, they do them once or twice a year. It feels like every day, at least from my point of view, then again, the last one was only 3 months ago.

Have fun King!

If you get the chance, read my PM.

So, does EA invite people, or tell a site to send a representative?

C&C3 is going gold soon. On the one hand, I'm excited that I'll have it this month, on the other hand, I think it lacks a little something.. but on that 3rd hand resulting from eating lead paint chips as a child, I'm excited because I can just mod in whatever I feel is lacking. :)

A bit of both. You usually get invited if someone recommends you. I was invited to the last community summit thanks to Hexetic, but I wasn't invited to this next one. Anyway, CnC King, enjoy it! And I'd like to ask you if you could ask them about TFD 1.03 patch (I forgot to do it last time :S). They have far too many TFD posters over there to ignore it ;).

The only thing I can ask EA for this community summit are the following.

Adjust enginners so they can repair civilian structures?

More armor for GDI's guard towers (seemed kinda light to me).

For an expansion to C&C3:

*A broken down Mammoth MKII walker that any side, being GDI/NOD/or Scrin, can capture like a tech structure in multiplayer maps.

*Cyborg factories left over from the Second Tiberian War. Its what I call the equivilant to the mutant hole.

*Perhaps another playable side (Cabal :D  )

while we all like to request certain things and such, I do believe that the point of community summits is not to collect requests. Now the patch request is a perfectly viable one, but as far as units and armor and such for the game/expansion pack....well cross your fingers. In the meantime, get on with the war! (or at least the demo)
