Yes, you can't disable superweapons.

Superweapon is made to be used, not to be disabled.

Not without whipping out some modding tools and removing every trace of the super weapons from the game. However if you did do that you wouldn't be able to play online with anyone.

Sorry for bringing up an old threat, but i was searching around for disabling superweapons and found this.

Now if I would go through the INI file and remove superweapons from my game and also sent that ini to a friend and we wanted to play online against eachother, that would work i suppose?

I really dislike playing with it, im used to old Red Alert games and such where military, flights adn infantry conquered the world :)

If anyone wanna make me that kind of INI files id be forever grateful!

Well, if its only for singleplayer, use tibed...pretty easy

Just set the build limit to -1, and you can't build it.

I wonder why people don't like superweapons. It's a good thing, and I love to use them. Especially the particle cannon. When my particle beam is near my enemy base, I often said "HELL IS COMING FOR YOU BABY, MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA" :twisted:

I love the Scud Storm- The best Superweapon

Today's weather forecast: Cloudy. Chance of Scuds in the evening...then anthrax developing at night. Lows around 40. Chance of Scuds 99 percent.

The reason is there's no way to defend yourself against them :) With tanks and flights u can always build a defense and such, makes Multiplaying more fun in my opinion, im probably in the minority though :)

Simply change 1 line in the INI files. Very Simple

PlacementViewAngle = -45

; ***DESIGN parameters ***

DisplayName = OBJECT:Airfield

Side = America

EditorSorting = STRUCTURE

Prerequisites

Object = AmericaSupplyCenter

End

BuildCost = 1000

BuildTime = 30.0 ; in seconds

EnergyProduction = -1

CommandSet = AmericaAirfieldCommandSet

VisionRange = 200.0 ; Shroud clearing distance

ShroudClearingRange = 200

ArmorSet

Or You can change it so dozers can't build it:

CommandSet GLAWorkerCommandSet

1 = Command_ConstructGLASupplyStash

2 = Command_ConstructGLAPalace

3 = Command_ConstructGLABarracks

4 = Command_ConstructGLABlackMarket

5 = Command_ConstructGLAStingerSite

6 = Command_ConstructGLAScudStorm (Change this)

7 = Command_ConstructGLATunnelNetwork

9 = Command_ConstructGLAArmsDealer

10 = Command_ConstructGLACommandCenter

11 = Command_ConstructGLADemoTrap

12 = Command_DisarmMinesAtPosition

End

whohoo, never messed with the ini's before, but ill try right after posting here.

I assume by changing u mean i should delete it right? (*backs up current inis just incase*

i guess there's a way to change so we dont get stars, raising the point level or something which means we'll be unable to get those advantages aswell right?

Thanks a lot!

i feel like an ass.. but exactly what INI file should i edit and where is it? I got a folder named INI but no files in it :oops:

DO NOT DELETE IT. MIGHT CRASH

Instead, change it to something obscure, like a GLA palace, or a civilian house, even an aircraft carrier (The aircraft carrier counts as a building in ZH)

For the commandset on what the builders build, Thats okay to delete that.

There are more than 20 INI files for the game, each controlling a different thing. The INI files are not there. You need to get them by downloading or extracting. I have them all. Want me to send them to you?

Well, generals made superweapons fun. They were an integral part of the gameplay- there were so many ways to counter them (i.e. generals powers). The superweapons though powerful were better balanced with the rest of the gameplay. Plus it was easier to rebuilt after a super weapon strike. If you didn't attack while the enemy was still melting in toxic ozoee, there was a chance he'll strike back.

This isn't the case in RA2. However got the super weapons first usually wins. There are less options to counter them, short of completely destroying the other guy's base.

TS was similar to RA2 in that whoever got the superweapons was knig. Although in TS was more of a harrasment issue than a I Just Killed You With Superweapons kinda thing.

I say keep em and learn to love 'em
