ok i assume most of you guys have seen the new Transformers Movie. well i want to know what you think of it good and bad.

Not much of an actual story, but still one of my favorite movies of late. Soundtrack is awesome too. I was disappointed finding out Paul Oakenfold wasn't doing the transformers theme but it was still good none the less.

I thought it was kind of a disappointment. The characters were pretty 2-dimensional and overall it didn't seem as much like a Transformers movie as it was a teen drama featuring Transformers.

 

I think VGCats summed it up pretty well for me.

I'm a long time Transformer fan. I'm yet to see the new movie and it will be awhile before I do. I'll wait for the DVD release and enjoy in the comforts of home Rather than pay rip off movie ticket prices.

they find the cube, even if it was the corniest way to incorporate that into the story, glasses from like 100 yrs ago that got stuff on em when his grampa tripped and fell lawl

lol so true, i found the story need to be "more than meets the eye"

i fount the only good part of the movie was done by spelburg. oh and the xbox guy!

 

but over all i felt let down, Sonic when you do watch it keep an open mind.

well its my pick of the year. simple non stop action with some story flaws... but still just a great movie.

I was really impressed overall, when you remember being a kid watching the cartoons on the TV, you really can't knock it at all.

 

Movie of the year I'd say. It was a blast from beginning to end.

I'm happy, it's twice the action of one sequel (and maybe if we add up all the plot from all the movies then it would be enough for a regular movie :lol:)

Forgive me for resurrecting the old thread and if you hate spoilers, but i must have my say in this ONE. I have waited and obcest over this movie since the annoucement much like C&C3. I have every picture and every concept and had every hope that this movie would make my summer. And................IT DID.

 

Transformers is the best robotic/alien CGI movie that I have ever seen in my life. I have seen it now 3 times and i still could never get enough of the action.

 

Of course the movie had its up, its down, and its corny moments (Duh, I think theres more to you than meets the eye. Uh duh...)

 

One of the way ups was the transformation of the Transformers. The way they were able to transform in action was a mouth dropper as you see multiple parts shifting precisly and, god i cant think of the word, Transforming "right", and not shrinking like megatron did when he morphed into a gun.

 

The movie had some great comedy. Like the police scene breaking into the hacker's house. Kind of reminded me of Cops.

 

Another great moment was the dog fight scene between Starscream and the Raptor pilots. I have never sence such a beautiful action scene. :cry:

 

And now the bad. And I do have a lot to say. The movie was more romance than action. And he movie action wise takes good movement reflexes to actually tell what is going on during the fighting scenes of the Transformers themselves, like the fight between Bumblebee and Barricade (it was a blurr). Frenzy was way too fast when attacking Sam, and you could barely see the fight or there was barely any fight at all. Like the fights between Bumblebee, IronHide, and Ratchet vs Brawl (A.K.A Devastator), the action scenes when the deceptions attacked the Hoover Dam, or when Bonecrusher attacked Optimus on the freeway. This could probably be blamed on budget problems and story cuts. Like when Capt Renalds rides the bike and blows Blackout's head clean off his shoulders. DID MOST OF YOU KNOW THAT THE BIKE ITSELF WAS ARCEE, THE FEMALE AUTOBOT WHO WAS CUT FOR IRONHIDE (he is my favorite besides Brawl). I believe most of the movie was edited so it would go along with the story.

 

Another down was the lack of showing of the Decepticons. Of course the movie prequels (comics, books) show what they were up too, but I was hoping to see a meeting of them on the big screen. They just suddenly appeared and disappeared. Like Barricade, the Cop car. What happened to him?

 

All in all though, Transformers was a movie that brought back so many memories, and even though the movie didnt go as I had planned it, I still have high hopes for Transformers 2, with soon to be seen transformers Soundwave and the Constructicons.

 

I give it for great CGI transformings, getting to see IronHide and Brawl in action, the action scenes themselves, the way the tranformers transformed and looked in the film, and the great comical moments.

 

I also have to give it a unfortunately for not enough action scenes, barely any decepticon or cybertron showings, and too much get the girl showings.

The perceived blur during the fight scenes was probably deliberate and adds to the intensity, I thought it was good. Many of the things were left out because its hard to explain much of the complexities in the story over the course of a 2 hour film. I also didn't think there was much there that was only targeting the female audience either.

Yes, I was hoping for more. Like a charge scene where the Autobots and Decepticons charge at eachother at one. But most of the good Decepticons just died too quickly.

 

The dog fight itself was amazing.

 

Someone ought to make a transformers mod for Gen or RA2. lol

No. The Tank (Brawl) was just another Decepticon. Megatron is the alien fighter on transformers.

 

Autobots:

Optimus is the Big Rig.

Bumblebee, Sam's pal, is the Yellow Camaro.

Ratchette, Medical officer, is the Emergency Vehicle

Ironhide, weapons specialist, is the GMC pickup

Jazz, first leutenant thinks he is cool, is the silver Pontiac.

 

Decepticons:

Megatron, the leader, is an Alien Fighter

Starscream, Megatron's second, is a F22 Raptor

Blackout is the MH-53 Army Helicopter

Barricade is the cop car

Bonecrusher is the Buffalo mine vehicle.

Brawl (AKA Devastator-a movie fluk) is the modified M1 Abrams.

Frenzy is a CD Boom Box

Scorpinok is the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie Scorpion.
