The announcement of the expansion pack is nice, even if the name is far from original, seems to be a trend...

 

Aside from that it was pretty cool, but I didn't like the way the portrayed the match up, as it was more about those two guys and their opinons on the match, than really seeing the match it self save a few err, what is the term for a sound bite but relating to video? Meh you get my point.

I know they are going for the whole ESPN Sportscenter style but come on this is about gaming, why do the the hosts have to be in fancy suits. More laid back relaxed clothing would be better.

 

That was a first for me, I just gave some fashion advice :roll:

 

Overall I enjoyed what I watched but I have to be honest I skipped past the parts about the head to head matchup because I didn't really care about watching 2 people I know nothing about play a meaningless game.

 

Extend APOC's community corner, there is more happening in the community I'm sure.

 

Drop the "commercial breaks" , people will skip them anyway.

Yea but it'd make it overly long if they placed the whole thing. 30 seconds? More like 5 minutes IIRC.

I see what they're doing with the expansion. They are trying to fill the gaps between TW2 and TW3, while still expanding. Oh God I hope EA can pull through this time. :?

 

I can see what Joe meant when he talked about the actors. He, Holloway, and Ironside definitely wanted to be there. I question Helfer and Williams though.

 

And the music.. Wtf? I said way back that music is the most important thing next to actual gameplay. It sets the mood for the particular match or mission. You can see how all of you instantly noticed it. It definitely is worth improving.

Yea EA will need to watch for what units they put, continuation correction, and THE MUSIC.

Well I went in with an open, if somewhat eager, mind to this whole C&CTV thing.

 

After a few seconds, I've renamed the show Cheesy & Corny TV... but MWAHAHAH... I LOVE IT!

 

I wasn't expecting the expansion annoucement, and boy did I laugh out loud when it was revealed to be a retro expansion! So first we have 1.5 sequal, and now we have a 1.4 expansion pack.

The big question is, have they bit off more than can chew??? trying to appease the hard-core fans with "remember when" missions could go either way - will it make them heroes or villians!?!?

Time will tell... Time will tell.

 

I particularly noticed the "first expansion pack" line, and that the styoryline brings in the past fiction and future fiction. Obviously when the EA bigwigs were talking about fixing the fiction - they were kinda serious. Props to em!

 

How often are these supposed to air? Where are they getting the budget for these? Where do I sign up to become a work-experience cable guy for the next show?

 

The suits worked for me... the commercial breaks too... (if that's going to justify the expenditure anyway)... more community project highlights will be good not just "this is a cool website"... great reactions to the bobble head (i saw them advertised before I saw the tv show which ruined the suprise)... and if we can get Kane to interact with the boonie doll - even better!

 

Music *was* great... but until you reminded me, I had forgotten the C&C3 music was that bad. It's obviously that nondescript that I filter it out completely. So are sounds going to the most sought after feature in the new expansion?

 

Kane's stuff was a good mix of adlib and scripted stuff. Keep it rare and we'll always love him. less is more!!!

(he can even make it up... which would be even more fun!)...

Obviously the H2H section will gain prestige over the course of the show...

I think the length of the match shown was about right (but a easy link to download the full game wouldn't hurt)...

but I agree it shouldn't be so much about the commentators and more about the match. ie. less talking heads, more C&C carnage.

My suggestion is to have a box-in-box approach with commentators in the corner... if the use of the face is a contraction thing for $$$$$$$$$ for the commentators!

Of course I was kinda expecting more of a "live" feel to the game, with commentators oohing and aahing at the actions rather than an cold/factual critique of the game.

 

Anyway - good job EA. Apparently not everything you do is wrong!

That's the idea. As it has been stated before, BattleCast Primetime is like Sportscenter for C&C. If you have never watched Sportscenter on ESPN before they only show the key parts and cool plays from the games of NBA/NHL/NFL etc....
