Its Tacitus Thursday time once again on the Official C&C 3 Site, and this one is a special BattleCast Primetime Exclusive video that gives you a first look at the all the new Nod powers, units and structures of the Nod sub factions in Kane's Wrath.

I think though, after finishing the SP and a practice game of global conquest - that these air towers should not be buildable structures - and should only appear in strike forces with no mcv's.

 

Obviously the idea is to build them with your forward expansion base - but I don't really see the advantage over a normal aircraft producing structure - as shown in the recent BCPT (#8???) they are fairly cheap structures!

 

It would surely be safer and wiser to build unit producing structures at all times - in case you lose one!?!

Nah, they're kinda useful for stacking up vertigo's in the campaign (when you already have 3 air towers and want more of those awesome stealth bomba's)

I still don't think so.

 

I just checked the actual stats as per retail patch.

GDI airfield $1000/10s/8p ---> GDI Air Support Tower $500/5s/5p

Nod airfield $1000/10s/5p ---> Nod Air Support Tower $500/5s/5p

Scrin air portal $1000/10s/7p ---> None

 

Because the airfield is still pretty cheap - and the air tower can't e built until you have an air field in the first place... I'd rather have a backup unit producing facility.

(It's interesting that Scrin don't have a more expensive air portal - considering their units don't need to return to base to rearm.)
