CNCNZ.com LiveWire - February 2008

Recommended Posts

Earlier this past week you may have seen the promo image on the main page advertising Episode 3 of LiveWire for February 26th. We could actually get the show done for the 26th due to some technical reasons so we had to delay it for a few more days. The good news is, the February edition of CNCNZ.com LiveWire is now online. Featuring a wrap up of selected news items from around the C&C Community and CNCNZ.com. A new segment has been introduced plus the show has a new opening sequence.

Almost perfect. a couple of blips still visable, but nevertheless I think it's hammered down nicely.

Question though: Why did I burst out laughing at the 4:25 mark? It looked like just as Zee said "Command & Conquer Movies is now back online!", his computer had just spontaneously burst into flames and he couldn't get off the chair quick enough :P

No but other than that, it's bang on.

CANON FICTION QUESTION...

Zee refered to RA3 as a World War 3 with a new power from the east.

Isn't it technically WW4?

RA1 replaced WW2.

RA2 followed RA1 (ie. WW3)

RA3 would therefore be WW4!?!

TOP NOTCH GUY!

This is really moving and bopping along. The new intro is excellent, great choice of clips... very emotive.

I LOL'd when Zee checked out the website... that was good.

My only technical suggestion is the placement of b-roll to help with your 'seg-ways'. If you move your broll to the start or end of the segment you can cover the transition better from one subject to the other (ie. if you're using new clips).

The first tansition was okay (zee beamed in and out) but the other one's dragged the overall quality down. Down from an A+ to a straight A.

.

.

.

Anyway I'm really proud of this LIVEWIRE.

Great job. Really great job.

RA3's story says that Soviets went back in time and messed with things...so they changed the future, which includes RA2(ww3)

so then the RA2 timeline is on a parallel timeline due to the events before it...the other timeline of which RA2 is parallel to is RA3....get it? i didnt really explain it so simply  RA3 technically replaces RA2

Everything Zee reported in the RA3 story was taken directly from EA's RA3 press release.

The original intros were quick jobs but never reflected C&C. I feel it does now and plus its quick and snappy. And yes every game from C&C to RA3 and even TIBERIUM is in there. Wait until you see the intro for the Rewind show, all 11 seconds of it ;)

Regarding the transitions and editing. What I didn't mention is that Zee had basically had to re-record the show segments again due to an audio sync issue, hence the delay from the 26th to 29th. So I guess its understandable that some rough edits got missed.

Technically it would still be World War 3. If the soviets were to take out Einstein, they would have done it at a strategic part of the timeline. We still don't have all the details, but they must have done enough during their travel to prevent a particular turning point in history, or at least preventing Romanov and Yuri coming to power so that Red Alert 2 never actually happened.

Theoretically Red Alert 1 will have always of happened, because it sets all the foundations for the universe to exist. So no matter how you look at Red Alert 3, it can be classed as another Red Alert 2, or 2.5 even, from an event perspective. So you can call it WW3.

I'm impressed you've been able to put that kind of animation into it with just WMM...didn't realize until just now, but I guess you do have enough experience with Legos and all :P

I love time travel headaches... almost as much as I like jokes about deja-vu - the feeling that you have experienced something before....

From the armchair perspective, and not with a university degree, I still want to point out that my original post is still accurate. Everyone who writes a time travel story deals with the overlapping in their own way... parrallel universes which branch off after every disruption or some sort of merging with one time stream.

Think about this...

Einstein went back in time in RA1 after WW2 to undo Hilter and his Nazi Germany attempts to take on the world.

einstein returns to his time period having physically gone through the original war, and now goes through a new war with stalin. So einstein has physically gone through 2 wars.

when he returns to the his 'present' - both he and his mysterious assistant appear to have some memory of what einsteen had set out to achieve... is this a case of temporary time bubble (yet another author's attempt to deal with time travel)???

Interestingly enough the characters in the remainder of the game do not appear to have any knowledge of the journey back...

RA2 is clearly set after RA1... and the soviets who are result of einstein's original trip, who apparently didn't fare so well at the end, decided to go back through time to fix it, and now go through another world war.

So by 7 degrees of kevin bacon - i think there is enough doubt to say that it's ww5!

ww2 - einstein lives it

ww3 - RA1 - einstein causes it

ww4 - RA2 - einstein lives it

ww5 - RA3 - soviet survivors that einstein causes from RA2 create it

(I would say that RA1 is a parrallel universe, but RA3 is a merged universe from Yuri by the way. Which totally messes up all theories and it's also enough proof to say that universes with time-travel are a lot of fun because ANYTHING GOES!!!)

Anyway i'm just trying to say that while in one sense one war or another was replaced, a physical survivor from each war exisits in the new timeline - and therefore the original war still exists - otherwise the person should receive a new memory etc after the timelines merge. But because some people, the protaganists for example, retain their memory of their actions, the events still occur... and leads me to speculate the easiest explanation is not time travel but parrallel universes.

.....Okay this is what we call off-topic - because I know people are going to respond!
