  1. The Blaze have picked 14 Presidents from works of fiction who are probably more realistic choices than the 2016 candidates, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, for this year's US elections. And of course there is a Command & Conquer twist to this news. As both President Howard T. Ackerman played by J.K. Simmons in Red Alert 3, and President Michael Dugan played by Ray Wise in Red Alert 2 have been chosen. Click here to check out the full list. Number 1 would be a great President.
  2. For Music Monday this week we return to some of the original tracks from the Renegade X soundtrack. The pick is "Serenity". A very orchestral piece this one. With a haunting violin and piano mix. Its a sad and sombre one. So break out the tissues. As always, a new track will be posted next Monday. Share this on social media using the hash tags #CnCMusicMonday and #MusicMonday.
  3. For Throwback Thursday this week we look back to the time when we first got the teaser image for what was then called :"Command & Conquer Generals 2". Late in 2011, the image you see above started to appear on various sites, rumours circulated that it was indeed our first look at Generals 2. Truth be told I always had my doubts about the legitimacy of this image, was it really Generals 2? Well by early December 2011, Christmas came early for C&C fans as EA confirmed that Generals 2 was indeed in development. By August 2012, Generals 2 had been repackaged as a free to play game simply called "Command & Conquer". Fast forward to October 2013, and well we all know what happened then, the game got cancelled. So for a time there we had a Generals 2 game in the works and sadly all it was in the end was a teaser to game we never got. Remember, you can click on the preview to see a larger and more detailed image. Don't forget to check out the Throwback Thursdays archives if you've missed a week. Check back again next Thursday for another Throwback. Send in your ideas for future instalments. We also encourage you to share this on social media using the hash tags #ThrowbackThursday, #CnCTBT and #CNCNZTBT.
  4. The team at W3D Hub is hosting a Red Alert: A Path Beyond game night this Saturday the 2nd of July to commemorate the recently released stats system. Join the W3D hub team and other Red Alert: A Path Beyond players at 8PM GMT/9PM BST, jump into the server and earn your place on the official leader boards. Climb to the top ranks and secure your position. More details can be found here.
  5. W3D Hub have announced something that has been the works for a long time. The team have been collecting game data and working hard behind the scenes in the past few months and they are pleased to present the Official Statistics and Ranking System for Red Alert: A Path Beyond. This ranking system is rather detailed. For instance, you can see how you rank up against everyone else and if you climbed or dropped a rank, see your total score and k/d ratio, how many games you have won as either Allied or Soviet, and how many times you have earned the MVP spot. You can even see when someone last played or is online now. Another cool feature is the forum signature image. Display your stats on your favourite forums, such as the CNCNZ.com Forums. There is more, you can find out about everything this new ranking system has to offer right here. Once your done its time to jump into the game and start ranking up.
  6. Welcome to 2009/2010.... C&C 4 sucks, do we need to go over it all again? Even the devs who ended up at Victory Games said it was ****.
  7. This weeks edition of Throwback Thursday looks back at how C&C Generals got censored in Germany back in 2003. Censorship is strict in Germany. And the time of the release of the game, German officials decide too many of the game's core elements resembled real world events. Obviously the most notable change was the fact that all the Generals and human character were turned into Cyborgs. But here a list of all the major changes to a game that many people in the rest of world never got to see or play.... The intro was completely removed due to having a few not-so-subtle references to real-life politics/politicians. The three playable sides had their names changed to no longer reference real-life countries. The campaign was renamed to "mission". The world map on the loading screen was removed and any references to real places or countries are altered. Interestingly, the spoken briefings were not altered. As expected, the human soldiers are altered to be cyborgs. This includes changing the portraits of all units and having robotic voices. The terrorist was removed from the game and instead replaced with a driving bomb. Other than the visuals, however, the functionality is exactly the same. Human civilians are removed from missions. The second GLA mission was removed completely. It involves hijacking a UN convoy and stealing their supplies, as well as killing any civilians (or destroying their houses) who try to take the UN supplies for their own benefit. Completing the last mission for any of the campaigns does not play a video. The expansion pack's intro is present, but the portraits of the generals which appear at various points in the intro were covered up by lazily edited in copies of the portraits from Generals Challenge. The portraits of the generals were censored as usual, other than that though they kept their human names, with one exception: Dr. Thrax was renamed to Dr. Trax to remove the pun on anthrax. Strangely, the Skirmish Mode portraits were replaced with the win/lose portraits from Generals Challenge. The credits of Zero Hour showed a US Ranger in the background, this was removed, leaving German players with nothing but blackness. 8. There appears to be a technical issue that is preventing any of our news and content links being shared on our Facebook page. When I attempt to post/share anything I get this.... I've logged a support request with Facebook. Doubt I'll get a reply any time soon. So until further notice there will be no updates on our Facebook page.
  9. The issue appears to have been fixed. Still no explanation from Facebook support about it though.

This "Unofficial Patch" focuses on balance and bug fixes, also adds new stuff in order to make the more than half a decade Kane's Wrath feel more refreshing. Game nights

I fully support the idea but I never commit to them. Mostly due to the problem of time zones and everyone is spread out across them.
  21. Throwback Thursday this week remembers the arrival of the Empire of the Rising Sun's Shogun Executioner in Red Alert 3 from 2008. The Shogun Executioner was the Empire of the Rising Sun's ultimate weapon. An enormous assault walker, heavily armoured and armed with three deadly "Wave-Force Blades" for its primary attack. In addition the Shogun Executioner could simultaneously drive the blades into the ground to release an electric "Omega Shockwave", usually sufficient to destroy structures in the surrounding area. The Shogun Executioner had no anti-air weaponry but it was a hazard to low-flying aircraft due to its height. The Shogun Executioner was also able traverse through water and tread over or on buildings Remember, you can click on the preview to see a larger and more detailed image. Don't forget to check out the Throwback Thursdays archives if you've missed a week. Check back again next Thursday for another Throwback. Send in your ideas for future instalments.
