  1. The first patch for Renegade X to address some of the issues in the first public beta release has been delayed, the Renegade X team announced this just a couple of days ago. It was expect earlier this week. But due to some important issues that were discovered, the patch has been delayed. No date for this patch has been set just yet, but it shouldn't be too far away.
  2. Perhaps this patch may help with your problems http://www.cncnz.com/hosted-projects/command-patch/the-first-decade-unofficial-patch/
  3. Cypher, one of our oldest friends on the community, was kind enough to send in this detailed article he wrote, its titled From the Mobile Infantry to the Mobile Base – A Study in Battlefield Mobility. Basically it takes a look at the how the idea of idea of a "mobile base" evolved and came to be. Here's a small sample.... Follow this link to read the rest. Feel free to share any comments about this article as well.
  4. Bluehell Productions have released a new patch for Tiberian Sun Reborn. This new patch includes a new map, Field_2. A re-imagining of the original Field, it features an extensive tunnel network, multiple back entrances into both bases and a silo based economy. There is a heavy Tiberium presence here which limits the amount of terrain which is suitable for vehicle usage, funnelling tanks into head to head battles to control the field. The patch also features the latest version of scripts 4.2 and an updated version of Tiber, that includes manual harvesting points for both teams and has a reworked silo layout to help alleviate cases where both teams destroy each others silos early in the game leaving both teams stuck with no money. The patch can be downloaded via the BHP Launcher.

    Titanfall

Has no single player content, so not really interested.
  8. Renegade X features some outstanding music. Unfortunately you don't hear much of it in the current build. The Renegade X team are aware of this and we've heard that they plan to implement an in-game jukebox. In the meantime, you can listen to this great sounding track called "Tension Rising". If you want the Renegade X soundtrack, grab it using the link below. Renegade X Official Soundtrack (86 MB) The "Tension Rising" track can be heard in the main Renegade X menu, also known as the front-end.
  9. The Renegade X team have announced that a patch to address some of the issues in the first public beta release will be made available early next week. No details on what the update will specifically address at this time though. Renegade X will automatically notify you when the patch is available.
  10. A brand new version of The Dawn of the Tiberium Age mod for Tiberian Sun has been released and it's available for download now. There are many changes in this release, summarised below. More balance improvements have been made. All Red Alert units now use voices and weapon sounds from Red Alert (the light infantry and rocket infantry still used American voices before), while the Tiberian Dawn units still use their original sounds. All tanks currently still use the firing sounds from Tiberian Dawn, although you can replace these tank firing sounds with the Red Alert variants via a checkbox in the options menu (this option will also change the sound you hear when a building is destroyed to the Red Alert variant). All factions are now able to repair their aircraft on the Repair Facility (Allies and Soviet weren't able to before). The game engine actually only allows aircraft to be repaired on a single Repair Facility, so to get around this, all factions now build the same Repair Facility and its graphics will either look like the Tiberian Dawn or the Red Alert version depending on the faction you're playing as. As a side-effect you can now see a Red Alert Repair Facility in a GDI base for example and it was also necessary to make Nod able to build the Repair Facility as well. It turns out that the King of the Hill mode wasn't properly playable because the timer only functioned when playing as Allies. This has now been fixed, so if you've tried this game mode before and it didn't work, please give it another shot. Because of a small error in the launcher's code, Soviet would never be picked whenever you selected Random as your faction; this has now been fixed. Capturing construction yards or refineries of other factions should no longer make un-clickable grey icons appear on the sidebar. You can no longer play as Allies or Soviet in Classic mode; you can still select them, but this will now make you start as either GDI or Nod with a Red Alert sidebar; the Red Alert factions have a huge unfair advantage in classic mode after all. This is a temporary solution until the option to select the Red Alert factions is completely removed whenever classic mode has been selected. The multiplayer map "Perilous Islands" has been added, which can be seen in the image below. This map is unique in the sense that you purely need to rely on ships and aircraft in order to win the match and also capturing islands in order to boost your economy. The AI will be a tough opponent on this map as well. You can read the full change log right here. The download can is available by following this link.
  11. New teaser trailer for the 4th Transformers movie.... I plan to go and see this one. Enjoyed the other 3 but I don't think any more are needed after this one.

    Expendables 3 first trailer

I enjoyed the first 2. It was cool to all the big action stars on screen together. But I the novelty has worn off now so I don't really have much interest in this one. And please stop calling everything "Epic"
  14. Really, another 3? Don't recall seeing anything about that. If they do end up doing a 5th and 6th movie chance are Bay won't be directing them. He keeps saying he's done, or was done after the 3rd movie but they keep throwing more money at him to come back. Yeah this only number 4. Yeah no more Shia Le-whatever. I've felt the focus should be on the actual Transformers, not the human characters.

  23. A new mod for Red Alert, yes you read that right, has been released. Command & Conquer: Civil Warfare features two armies, the Allied People's Army (APA - Allies) and the Royal Black Hole Army (BHA - Soviets). This mod also includes a lot of different balance tweaks to the original Red Alert. You can find out more about the Command & Conquer: Civil Warfare mod for Red Alert right here.
  24. Well I played for a good solid 3 hours late last night, had a blast. It feels like like the original Renegade, but you spot the subtle changes they have introduced. For a first public beta its pretty damn good. But "beta" is the key word here. Bugs and crashes are to be expected. I experienced 2 occasions where the game simply froze, it was definitely the game, not the computer, because I was able to ALT/TAB back to the Windows 7 desktop. the RenX icon was on the taskbar, clicking on it would restore the game again, and I was able to continue playing. If you are having performance issues, like any game you need meet the system specs.... Minimum: Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista 2.0+ GHz processor 2 GB system RAM SM3-compatible video card 4 GB free hard drive space Recommended : Windows Vista 64 SP2 2.0+ GHz multi-core processor 4 GB system RAM NVIDIA 200 series or higher graphics card Plenty of HDD space Its good be playing a PC game again and giving my GeForce GTX 650 Ti a work out
  25. Once installed its around 2.1 GB. In comparison, the original Renegade was just over 1 GB. The quality of a game is not measured by how many GBs it takes you know. Downloaded mine from the Aussie mirror. Pulled it down in the less than 30 minutes.
