We've had a thread like this past, time for an update. Go to http://www.speedtest.net and run the test, then copy and paste the code for the results.

This is the best my line has been for ages, thanks to some recent repairs done in my area.

It goes faster than that, I was downloading at the time, but its still pretty slow, but eh, it works fine for me.

Luk3us, could you post your line stats from your router? I really think you may have some problems there. You shouldn't have to except slow speeds like that.

I was uploading files at the time. It's never that consistent anyway.

In case your wondering I'm downloading 3 things, my internet won't respawn until the 11th (god knows why) and NZ phails at Broadband.

 

I'll post again when It's back to semi-obese-ninja speed again.

oh did you hear about the new bill being put forwards in the american government? for free broadband o.o it's gonna be voted on soon. basically the short term is that it will give countrywide free wireless broadband for everyone. a decent speed too. the downside? they might monitor you and it's a "family plan" which apparently means you can't look at porn >_>; which kinda takes the whole point out of it if you ask me... but good for gamers anyway :3 it goes before congress on the 18th this month apparently. one of my friends is one of the people who set it up ^^; he also happened to work on Spore. *fangirlyness* XD

While the tests at http://www.speedtest.net aren't 100% accurate the idea is to not have anything else using your connection while it tests. Plus there is no point in testing when your speeds are capped.

forgetting all of the downloading and cap, do you know roughly what your normal download upload is? (simply from experience?)
