Saracen 16 Posted November 11, 2008 See David Hasslehoff was right on conquerthislife.com.... "That's good RTS" I like to think the score I've given in the review was fully justified. It is a great game. One thing I have noticed though upon replaying the campaign on Hard, is the game is a lot easier. Now I thought that was simply down to knowing how everything works etc. But then I had a go at the Hard AI on Skirmish.... I wiped the floor of it easily. So... I went back to medium, and it put up more of a fight! I just about won that game after it hit me hard a few times.... Of course, on brutal (especially with large maps) You're screwed! Fact of the matter is, the Medium and Hard difficulty levels are the wrong way round. This is similar to how Universe at War played, where the Hard difficulty was easier than the Medium... Looks like someone applied the difficulty profiles incorrectly.... Although Hard doesn't seem to wanna do much.... I think the AI triggers could be broken somewhat. Share this post Link to post
hagren 0 Posted November 11, 2008 I noticed that the AI is like in UaW- Regardless of the difficulty setting, it's fluctuating in skill. Share this post Link to post
Inferno 22 Posted November 11, 2008 Well yeah any CPU is pretty easy to beat on skirmish, with the obvious exception of the brutal.... Share this post Link to post

rEdaSbLood 1 Posted November 12, 2008 WOW WORST REVIEW EVER! is he on crack... and yes he totally misjudged the game... I’m sorry, but if I ever have to waste my time with a bunch of escort or stealth missions in a game that’s built around the concept of leading large forces against each other and waging grand war, I’m going to puke. Dear RTS makers: no one likes these missions. No one uh...i did Share this post Link to post

BioBen 3 Posted November 12, 2008 (edited) What the hell. Stealth missions are my favourite. What a T*** Edited November 12, 2008 by BioBen Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted November 12, 2008 So I finished the Allies & Soviets, and started the 3rd mission for the Japs. And I'll stop right there. The Empire missions are boring and tedious at best. So screw that. Once I finish Fallout 3, I'll pop back online and start pwning noobs. Share this post Link to post
Alphabear 11 Posted November 12, 2008 Finished the Allies, Empire and on the last level of Soviet (haven't tried it yet). I did the entire Empire campaign in co op which made it fun. The Empire mission where you invade the America was tough. The Allies have total air superiority. Share this post Link to post
Inferno 22 Posted November 12, 2008 Tbh, I've only had difficulty on Empire missions against the soviets. Allies were a peace of cake. Share this post Link to post

The Empire mission where you invade the America was tough. The Allies have total air superiority. That final empire mission annoyed me though... The reason why is that you can destroy the allied airbase, then set up a small attack force of boats by your co-commander's base to take out the Futuretech Headquarters.... once the building is down to about 33% health, everything on the map just blows up.... no need to take anyone or anything else out. You then get those elite forces which so easily finish the job it's not funny!! This is the downside to modern C&C games, while going through the campaign for each faction, you had to blow up quite a few buildings to get the job done. Then it comes to these final missions, and they decide to make these missions too god damn easy by making you only have to eliminate one target to win!! With the Empire it's FutureTech, the Soviet mission it's the statue of liberty. At least with the Aliies final mission you had to make more of an effort by knocking out all the Iron Curtain's, before finally destroying the Space Shuttle launchpad * * = Don't read the spoiler unless you've completed every campaign in RA3! I agree, but I think a lot of the game was too easy in some missions and annoying in others while never actually being hard. The problem was the game told you, in fine detail, each step of the way. Then the co-commander would be there as well... Personally, I wasn't very impressed by co-op campaigns (although I've only tried it with the AI so far). I like doing the missions on my own, taking out the enemy without required help, and doing it without step-by-step directions. This is not a rant, however, I do like the game so far. I just think it has been dumbed down too much and the scantly clad women doesn't help that impression... Share this post Link to post

I must agree with you here. Besides the elite forces you got, you also had the support powers ready to use, it was just easy as pie. I was hoping for some more support forces to come out once you started attacking the FutureTech Lab, but that didn't happen either! The Allies last mission is the only tough last mission there is, which is kinda sad. I mean killing the Soviets with the Empire was much more challenging than killing the Allies on the final mission.... I hate anti-climax's. Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted November 12, 2008 Well I suppose there is a redeeming feature. On the Empire mission where you land at LA - Santa Monica... You're faced with EALA just north of the southern media station. How I've had fun blowing that building up. In fact, it's a great shame they didn't impliment NPC style civilians on that map, like Devs for example, running out of the building. What a fun experience it would be on a Skirmish map, to knock the building for six, have devs run out of it, only to drop a vaccum bomb on EALA because you're pissed about the game's DRM Share this post Link to post

hagren 0 Posted November 14, 2008 I am at the 4th Imperial mission and I have to say, the map design and inventiveness of this game is made of epic win. Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted November 15, 2008 the last two missions of the empire irritated the **** out of me.... yes i finished all campaigns, and generally im content... Share this post Link to post

Veggie 0 Posted November 16, 2008 (edited) I'm really enjoying the game, after playing cnc3, kanes wrath it's a fresh breath of air. There are minor issues that need to be worked out with patches which we have seen a few already. good to see the new live team is getting patches out. Have not playing the co op mode yet but looks fun and there is already talk of a expansion pack. What will EA think of next time will tell. hagren 0 Posted November 16, 2008 Regardless what I do, I can't take out the Allied bases with the exception of the lower right, which makes it impossible for me to capture the media stations. Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted November 17, 2008 (edited) i didnt have trouble with it... try artillery Edited November 17, 2008 by rEdaSbLood Share this post Link to post
hagren 0 Posted November 17, 2008 (edited) The Waveforce artillery is too fragile and expensive. And VXes aren't as useful as before either. Edited November 17, 2008 by hagren Share this post Link to post
Alphabear 11 Posted November 17, 2008 This was the only map we had trouble with in the Empire campaign (did the campaign in co op). I found the best way to do it is to turtle up with lost of AA defence to protect against the century bombers, moving our base out onto the water if necessary, other than that use wave force artillery to take out the constriction structures using sudden transports to spot for you Share this post Link to post
