hay guys i thought i would start a thread regarding us to see what we all do and see how interesting we all are, so the topic is...

yea it is a bit we are the highest turnover store in new zealand, and that part of the inderstry, i had a killer day today, *8grand, just 10 custmers.

 

lots of studying and thinking involved.

 

that sounds cool, is it just to full the time till you work out what you want to do?

I'm currently studying for a Bachelor of Environmental Science, majoring in Ecology and Animal Physiology.

 

Also have a strong interest in aviation (side effect of growing up at an Air Force base) so I'm completing my Pilots License at the same time. (although that's on hold at the moment because of costs)

I've already passed my MCP and MTCS Web exams so I am a certified ASP.NET 2.0 web application developer. And I am currently studying to be Zend PHP5 certified at my own pace. However, I am currently unemployed and attempting to freelance some work for cash until I get a solid gig.

 

I may go back to my old **** job though.

Well i'm currently still at high-school but am going to go from there to uni and study a BA majoring in English Literature and Media Studies to then complete the one year intensive post-grad course in Journalism.

 

Studying towards music production or something...

I do a lot of part time Sound & Audio work with a local firm and had seriously considered going the same way and did a bit of research into it but unless you really make it big by producing for a big band or something it's a pretty naff job to be doing for the rest of your life really.

hmm... well nothing at all right now. sometime next year i'm gonna be doing two courses, hopefully sooner rather then later. i've already received the cheque to pay for the courses (thank you charity agencies who help people learn and get jobs ^-^) but yah, two courses... one is game design, the other is computer animation or something like that. both lowest level courses. probably gonna become a game tester and work my way up from there. ideally i'd like to be in the game design stage as a job. coming up with an idea for a game and all the details with it... that i LOVE doing. everything else... eh... although i'm a technical wizz when it comes to computers, 3D graphic programs... a lot of work and stuff. i struggle making objects... and animating them would be even worse >-> and skins... heck no @.@; generally all i can do is come up with ideas and draw pixel art x3; i could do concept art too... maybe o.O

Unless you have the drawing skills of a god there's no way you can get into concept art. If the best 300 concept artists in the world have to compete for 1 job opening then.. yikes.

 

I'm currently studying for a bachelor of science degree in Game Art and Design. I'm more interested in the art though, someone else can design them.

I honestly have no idea at the moment I am hoping for something in history, language studies (German/English specifically), or business.

wow this is quit interesting to see what every one does or wants to do, and it is quite diverse. me when i left school to study, i trained to be a pc tech, but now i work retail and specialize in lighting and lighting design. so what you want to start off with generally is not what you do when you get into that field. i even bet Saracen and Sonic both wanted to do one thing but ended up doing another.

probably true... and i'm sure i don't have the skills for artistic design and concept art... but i'm sure i could come up with lots and lots of ideas for games o.o and a lot of times i'm great at coming up with technical solutions and small random devices and such... which means when i create things, they usually end up as complex as star wars >>; so i'm great at that kind of thing. and i have a somewhat warped humour, dark humour and wit... once i get going you'd probably end up with something like "Braindead" (deadalive for american audiences...) or "black sheep" (another grossout comedy horror using the same special effects team) either that or a little monty python humour, maybe some stephen fry wit...

 

aaaanyway. simply put, although i can draw a little, i'm nowhere near good enough to fill that job role. but actually coming up with ideas and such i can do...

I wanna be an engineer, dunno what kind, maybe computer/programming or electric, all depends on which is more in demand when I start college, also I kinda want to start a band but I really need to practice guitar WAY more than I have atm, I like writing songs, maybe I'll just do it on the side or someting someday but mostly the engineer thing but I still have 2 years to go before college starts ):

wow o.o nice to see people that actually have skills and ideals for later life rather then everyone being stuck in office work and wanting to stay there for the rest of their lives (and when i say "office work" i mean say, secretarial work or accounting or sales or whatever... normally game creation offices are a lot more entertaining o.O; )

 

and yup. black sheep was in the cinema for a couple of weeks. i KNEW completely it was gonna be like braindead but i dragged mom along because i didn't want to see it alone xD afterwards we were standing at the bus stop and she was like "...why did we watch that crap? why would anyone make that?" and i was just standing there giggling insanely. it's definately one of those guilty pleasure movies. like rocky horror but for gore and horror fans xD
