Password protected forums have been part of IP.Board forums (and other major forum software) for many years. Does the CNCNZ.com Forums have any password protected forums? No. If we did you would see them.

I hear they made it a little easier to control skinning functions, but I am still not looking forward to having to redo my skins for the new board... I'm tired of having minimal backwards compatibility with skins in new IPB releases.

While IPB's backward compatibility with skins is really annoying (I agree with that) the problem is each major new version seems to have just enough new features to make it worth it

Well there is no release date for the first official release, plus I won't be upgrading the day its released either. But eventually these forums will make the jump to IPB3.

yah... at the moment i am on benefits... (disability living allowance and income support methinks o.o) but yah i have a lot of issues. very few PHYSICAL issues but a -lot- of mental ones. mainly all resulting from heavy post traumatic stress... i'm pretty messed up .-.

 

same reason why i'm terrified to leave the house alone unless i know the area and route to area VERY well. like i know southend high street and the 20 and 25 bus routes to get there and back. but i couldn't go anywhere else. i can't even take a number 9 bus (still goes to southend and back but it takes a different route in all the little back roads. it scares me so much that if mom suggests we get a 9 to go to southend i cry... so yah we don't do that >_>)

 

heck. i can't even go to rayleigh anymore where my secondary school was because i can't remember the name of the stop nor the area... the only places i can go myself are southend high street and the local shops two minutes down the road which i can actually -see- from outside my front gate xD;

 

-insert minahistory sadstory time-

 

obviously because of these issues i've never had a job yet... college was bad enough, even though all the college buildings i've been to were just on roads directly linked to the southend high street. and let's see... work experience? that was bad... yaaaah... i was only meant to be there a short period like a month and i think i lasted about a week. ended up having a complete emotional breakdown. but in all fairness, they were breaking the law with what they had me doing o.o it was at a kennels, they had me doing things like bleaching out the indoor kennels... we were NOT allowed to handle any dangerous chemicals, and if we did we had to have proper safety gear and had to be monitored constantly.

 

they left me alone. had to do the whole walls which were a good 8 foot high. had to use a big broom. i ended up getting bleach puddling inside my gloves and inside my shoes. got small scalding burns on my hands, legs and feet as well as completely ruining a pair of jeans :\

 

and then there was the time they told me to sweep out the outdoor kennels then they let out the security dogs and they tried to attack me and i had to run and ended up getting locked inside the security dog's little room area and had to be let through the main house by the owners >_>

 

aaaaand there was another work experience person there. i got the dogs, she got the kitties. she got to play with the kitties all day and i basically got stuck with cleaning out empty kennels whilst the dogs were in the opposite ones (outside if i was doing the inside and so on) and when they ran out of tasks they had us paint the outdoor kennels but little miss lazy just sat there and listened to her ipod and i didn't want her to get in trouble so i did all her work then got told off because i was "taking too long" to finish my own >_>

 

and to top it all off, i was expected to carry bales of straw the same size as me (which wasn't an issue...) however when i went to pick one up, they all started falling and i ended up in a position where i was balancing multiple ones and couldn't move. and guess what? this place was like the barn in Arachnophobia >_> i looked up and there were hundreds of HUGE spiders just hanging on threads. and they all dropped down on me T_T and one landed on my hand and crawled right up my arm, neck and face. thus the reason i had the emotional breakdown and had to be sent home early. i got fired because of all this >_> (and there was the time they caught me laying down because i had literally passed out from work exhaustion and overheating)

so yah, until recently getting a job has not been an option. the only reason anything has changed is because the past three years have been spent getting me more social and going out (however the real reason i've become more social is because i started talking to my friends on skype a lot more...)

so here is my plan:

 

i would -like- to go into game design in some area, either some kind of art job or animating or modelling or just the game design/concept stages... this random special-needs job help lady came to visit me a few months ago and we've been sorting things out. she told me that to get that kind of job i would have to become a games tester and work my way up the industry. but to be a game tester, i need a couple of basic computer graphic qualifications. i'm being sorted out to go on them near the start of next year.

 

i don't LIKE being on benefits but at this point i have no choice. i can't do anything and we really need the money to survive... i give mom £50 a week out of what i get to cover the expenses... i get £30 a week, most of this usually goes on food mom won't buy me which i need to stay SANE x3; and with the current recession and everyone being made redundant and life becoming more difficult, i'm probably gonna have to start giving mom more money o-o;;

 

but anyway yah back on topic (whoooo long-winded pointless answer! x3; ) so long as it looks and acts the same as the current board but only gives us extra functions i'm all with it. i'm not gonna be happy if it's massively different in style and layout :\

I would not expect a stable version until next Summer. But it's nice to have consistent buttons using CSS - before, some buttons use an image, while some other buttons are "plain" HTML buttons (like Add Reply).
