rEdaSbLood 1 Posted February 13, 2009 i ran CRYSIS demo and SUPREME COMMANDER demo...still dont have internet... crysis auto-detected high settings and ran perfectly, highest temp was 36c, but went down to 34c supreme commander was on highest settings for about 2 hours and highest temp was 34c thinking of running crysis on highest settings... well what happens when the water cooling goes bad? will it bust and destroy my PC? cuz i'd rather it just stop working than destroy my PC... this is a serious concern... MALEVIOLENCE - why is it madness  . everything is huge and loud and purty ... thanks for the compliments guys.. Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted February 14, 2009 MALEVIOLENCE - why is it madness  . everything is huge and loud and purty ... thanks for the compliments guys.. It's Malevolence (not Male violence or whatsoever, its a meaningful word, though not everyone knows it because its hardly used at all). Damn you broke the joke. When I say its madness, you should say "This is sparta" or something with the ring to it. I am jealous of your rig. I dreamed to own one, but could never own one, due to tight budget constraints. Even if I manage to get that Gulftown processor rig by the start of 2010 it will never be as high end as yours as I couldn't get liquid cooling and all the eye candy hardware etc. Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 291 Posted February 14, 2009 It's Malevolence (not Male violence or whatsoever, its a meaningful word, though not everyone knows it because its hardly used at all) At least your name doesn't get distorted into some chaoticly-spelled narcotic... you'd think people would be more careful spelling out a word they aren't used to... Anyway, why would anyone need a monitor that big? You'd strain your neck having to look around on it. You'd either need a pair of binoculars or an extension ladder to find the X up in to top corner to close off your windows (unless you make use of Alt-F4). How do you find your mouse arrow, you'd need it to be flashing or something just so it can catch your eye. Even with a full-length pointer tail, it would look like a maggot rather than a snake. Worst of all, I can't come up with anymore exaggerations to describe it! Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted February 14, 2009 At least your name doesn't get distorted into some chaoticly-spelled narcotic... you'd think people would be more careful spelling out a word they aren't used to... I'm just saying it to remind folks that they have spelled it wrongly an its probably a new word they can add on their vocab, which is cool. Anyways, I'm wondering too, if your 30inch is feasible to begin with. You should downgrade to some 22inch or 24inch. And extreme gamers will pwn your ATi 4870 easily with Nvidia GTX260 55nm and above. Unless... you have plans to purchase extra GFXs to crossfire and an Nvidia card (9600GT or something else) to act as a PhysX which is useful for games like mirrors edge and crysis. i think you should have no issue with it because u have the money. Alphabear 11 Posted February 14, 2009 A 4870 is hardy going to be "pwned" by a gtx260. Their performance is is so similar that is comes down to individual games to separate them on performance. Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted February 14, 2009 FIRST of all, sorry for the typo they happen time to time. SECOND, my resolution is pretty average and fits well relative to my TV size perfectly proportionate. THIRD, the PC itself along with a wireless keyboard and mouse combo was 1406. Not THAT much money, especially when you use your credit card. FOURTH, i plan to eventually upgrade. this build was my basis for the coming years... and like i said it runs pretty good, save the little kinks that come with having a brand new PC that hasn't gotten the chance to be updated... played Crysis again today, ran just fine. haven't gotten the chance to run it on HIGHEST settings, HIGH settings are just fine. probably will test higher settings just to see what my build is made of. Fiesta 0 Posted February 14, 2009 (edited) Even if I manage to get that Gulftown processor rig by the start of 2010 it will never be as high end as yours as I couldn't get liquid cooling and all the eye candy hardware etc. I've got the answer to that worry: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835108105 IMO hardware that performs is far more important than hardware that has flashy crap all over it, especially when you're picking a power supply. I have a personal rule not to trust power supplies with acrylic housings and/or LEDs plastered on them. Edited February 14, 2009 by Fiesta Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted February 14, 2009 i duno how my power supply measures up, its just someone told me it would be better. is this the sore thumb of my system? Share this post Link to post

rEdaSbLood 1 Posted February 15, 2009 lolz...first i did, but then i had to cut the price down cuz my limit was about as much as i paid for the final build Share this post Link to post
Fiesta 0 Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) i duno how my power supply measures up, its just someone told me it would be better. is this the sore thumb of my system? It will be in the long run. I've personally heard far too many first-hand accounts of power supplies dying before the other components; or if not that, the power supply has ended up being the root cause of problems in other hardware. You just HAVE to spend more on that for a good brand* or you WILL regret it. That's why I don't regret my Enermax Liberty, which has held for more than a year and a half with ZERO problems, despite more than a dozen brown-outs and just as many black-outs and hard-resets, and still has a dead-silent fan that does its job. *To provide a small guide, only buy power supplies from the following brands: Antec Enermax Corsair OCZ PC Power & Cooling Silverstone Cooler Master BFG Tech Thermaltake Seasonic (please avoid them for the time being, though; there have been an alarming number of DOAs with recent units, so give time for it to be corrected) Edited February 15, 2009 by Fiesta Share this post Link to post
Fiesta 0 Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) It's the one that came with your Apevia case, the 420 watt unit. With the exception of Antec, Silverstone, and Cooler Master, every power supply that comes with a case is most certainly some off-brand unit with off-kilter voltage regulation, small +12v rails, and low quality components in general. Alphabear 11 Posted February 15, 2009 # POWERSUPPLY: 680 Watts Power Supplies (Hush Power Supply SLI/CrossFire Ready) Assuming you didnt change any of the details from your last specs update you got this as well. However its more than likely that they replaced the case psu with this one. If they did, you just got ripped off for paying for 2 psus and only getting one Share this post Link to post

I don't think badly of Hush power supplies but they really aren't all that great, either. If you upgrade the video card, change out that power supply. You'll really need to at that point, anyway. rEdaSbLood 1 Posted February 16, 2009 yea im sure i got the hush power supply...i remember Sonic recommending getting a better power supply... bought Crysis, and tried highest settings. ran pretty well, but i noticed a tiny decrease in frame rate and even though its unnoticeable during play im OCD about it  . back to high. i may bring the PC next to my router so i can install RA3. dying to run that on the machine.
