Was just wondering as I was out shopping for presents today if anyone else was done.

 

So how much have you done and how long has it taken you?

 

I finished today, I also started today. I brought presents for 6 people in 3 hours.

did my shopping finished it a few weeks ago, spent close to $900.00 on it.

 

but over all it is not the amount it is worth but the thought.

I'm pretty much done at this point. Spent around, $400 bucks. Still have to go buy those lame, "food" gifts you give to randoms, so thats about another $50. So I'll probably end up spending about $500 all up which is fine by me.

 

And now to go buy my self some gifts!

lordie... i had to buy presents for my mom and my aunt's family (aunt, uncle and two cousins) i got half of it done ages ago... my uncle is easy to buy for... he loves the same things as me ^^; my little cousin was a matter of fluke turning out to be perfect (see the rambo dvd with paintball voucher in from another topic...)

 

aaaand the rest of the stuff i got on my birthday yesterday (12th dec), ironically with all the money i had >_> my mom got a list of things people wanted so i picked something off that for my aunt... my big cousin was easy to buy for. i know he likes horror comedies in the vein of braindead (deadalive) and blacksheep xD so i got him Zombie Strippers x3 (real movie. it has robert englund and jenna jameson in it...) and ironically there was another movie right next to it called zombies zombies zombies which had pretty much the same plot, only with no famous people that i knew and it was more expensive o.O

 

aaaand for my mom i got a sweeney todd dvd (at the time we were both in zavvi and i needed to get her presents so i just pestered her into telling me o.O) though it's her birthday soon as well... so the dvd for the b-day... aaaand for christmas... gawd. we went into waterstones and i made her pick out a handful of books she wanted, then i'd simply pick out one or two depending on price o.o; ended up choosing the two she really wants x3;

 

i know, i've only spent about £10 - £15 on each person... but considering before now i've never brought anyone but mom gifts... and i'm not really getting any kind of income o-o; the only reason i'm getting presents this year is cos last year my big cousin decided to buy everyone else presents by himself (normally me an mom give my aunt's family a present for each of them from us both and they do the same for me an mom. this year it's gonna be me an mom giving them presents o-o problem is my aunt and uncle always get presents together and my younger cousin is a psychotic ass so he won't get anyone anything... dunno why i'm even bothering to be honest x3; call it guilt...)

 

edit - i just remembered i have to wrap everything up T-T i should have done it last night when i got home but i've just delayed... i'm gonna do it after i finish posting on the forum but that could be hours from now xD

I don't spend over $100 on christmas present O_O but gonna get it all done tomorrow, and the state of mormreed is not in an economic crisis because gas is down which is the only thing I have to pay for

I've only got to get a few things on Wednesday then I'm all done for this year's gifts. Then next Wednesday (Christmas Eve) I'll have get some "drinks" for Christmas Day.

 

Also. I've added some Christmas lights to headers/logos on the main site (these have been fixed for screen resolutions higher that 1680 px wide now). Plus they are here on the forums as well. Wasn't going to bother doing it but I decided to recycle the light images I used last year.

aaaanyway. all my shopping is done, as i think i said previously. however i STILL haven't wrapped everything up. i really need to do that cos it's my mom's birthday in less then a week >_>;

i wouldn't mind new year's but everyone drinks wine and champagne. i really don't like that. if i'm gonna be drinking i want vodka or alchopops

 

(for those who don't know, alchopops are basically energy booze. such as WKD and bacardi breezer... they are aimed at the "young" generation by having alcohol which is flavoured in fancy tastes. they usually have lots of sugar or caffeine too... you generally get very drunk and very hyper, very quickly xD)

I didn't want to go overboard, then remove it all a couple weeks time. Like I said, I wasn't even going to do it all until I found the Xmas lights images on my back up USB drive.

that makes sense i guess o.o but i think you should make/edit/steal/beg/borrow (XD) complete christmasy designs for the whole site... heck, do it on all the major holidays (hmm... well. you might wanna stick to x-mas and say, the site and forum's creation birthdays) i'd suggest things like easter... but then you'd get people complaining, and others requesting additional holidays...

 

like st patrick's day and independance day and so on... (which as fair as it is, will always wind SOMEONE up. i have honestly had americans ask me why we don't celebrate the 4th of july in the UK. and not even a couple of americans. we're talking upwards of 20 here. all on the same day, on the same year. and the number goes up every year... XD)

 

but yah... i don't know how complex it is to set up the site/forum but if it's just a simple image swap or whatever, just make all the layouts and pictures when you get free time then upload them when it gets near the time ^^ it's a bit late for christmas this year, but you've only got a whole -year- until next time...

 

also, i finally got around to wrapping up the presents! xD and it was only four i had to wrap o.O;

and i've got some epic stuff i've received and bought... i'll make another topic or something for them xD

i have a large family too... but i only know my direct family... my dad lives with someone else. so i have a stepmom and stepsisters... hardly ever see any of them o.o

 

so i basically just see my mom and my aunt's family. like, 5 people total or something x3;

and at the moment i have no proper income. if i had a job and was getting paid something half decent (by that i mean the same/more then i'm getting then the benefits...) then i'd probably spend more money on the family at christmas... £10 - £15 per family member sounds a lil cheap but when you have very little money it's expensive .-.;

 

but if i get a job later i'll buy people cool stuff! :3
