Hi-Res C&C 4 GDI Mastodon Concept Art

A great hi-res concept art image of the GDI Mastodon in Command & Conquer 4 has surfaced. It was discovered on this page where you can win a trip to gamescom, where the largest Command & Conquer fan event around - CommandCom - takes place.

 

I really like the attention to detail, the eye on the side, a flag representing Greece, even the Alexander The Great nick name is nice touch.

Holy M O God! now i noticed it, they named it after our Greek Historic Hero "Alexander the Great" and they have our Country's Flag too!!!!! YES!

also the "19th armed devision" (just under the GDI logo) is a smart touch cause the 19th devision of ours is actually a Mobile Artillery Unit Devision in Greece

Eh, they probably want to use 'Mammoth' for a tank of the traditional Mammoth Tank design. So why not Mastodon? It works as a substitute and the sound of it is ok, albeit not as good as 'Mammoth'.

Sure it's a logical choice, and I'm glad that they are keeping the C&C3 mammoth tank intact...

it just that the name Mastadon, doesn't roll of the tongue well enough for me, and doesn't strike enough fear in my enemies...

So much, in fact, that they've disappeared altogether. AFAIK, unlike the MKII, the Mastodon is not armed with railguns.

Mastodon is a logical name choice after Mammoth. Besides, they had to call it something else considering the Mammoth Tank is the game as well.

Well. 2 Mainguns(One on each side. 2 Anti-infantery guns(One on each Railgun, one, what seems to be a Tailgun, probaly a an anti-infantery gun or even an Anti-Aircraft gun. Together with One SAM launcher on each rail gun

 

So that makes 2 railguns, 3 cannons, and 2 sams.

 

MUST have!I hope EA includes all of these weaponary!Would be so bloody awesome.

Actually, i find the name "Mastodon", pretty fitting

 

Since we had the Titan, Wolverine, Behemoth, Juggernaut, Mammoth names as walkers.

So it actually fits in that plate.It means=Big huge, unstoppable

I have the feeling that the fully upgraded and unlocked features of the Mastodon would be madness. (lets hope there isn't an optional trunk as one of the upgrades though)

Well, i wouldnt mind if we need to do upgrades to get to the Extra stuff

 

Lets say a Masaton, unupgraded, has standard railguns and Chin turret, but with upgrades, u can grab extra Anti-Infantery Turrets and the SAM launchers

I don't like that all 3 leg joints are hinge joints or the tiny connection the chit turret has to the hull. And for that matter I don't like how the chin guns are cartoonishly proportioned (way too large). Hate the feet too. They look like a children's toy. No stability. I do like that the texture shows signs of wear and tear though.
