I think slight blur effect is what Kane Nash intended, perhaps to show heat from the flames or something.

One suggestion for Kane Nash though, if he is here, would like a sharper image for that flamethrower.

Indeed is heat effect, you wont expect the air to remind cold around flames capable to meltdown vehicle armour, right?

Just use the 1920x1200 image, it will resize to 1680x1050 because is the aspect ratio. You don't even have to resize it yourself. Just set it as your wallpaper and Windows will do it for you.

nowai!. My comp rocks! I'm just strict with letting windows use more cpu than necessary.

Displaying images as wallpapers uses memory, not CPU resources. The quality and size of the image determines how much memory it takes to display.
