C&C 4 Unit Profile - Nod Crawler

Recommended Posts

The latest Command & Conquer 4 unit profile has been posted on the Official C&C Site. Today we get a profile on the Nod Crawler, also known as the MCV Mk. VII. And as always this profile features a short in game video, concept art and extra information. Here is a sample....

Following Kane's mandate, the Brotherhood's combat forces have been restructured into Offense, Defense, and Support branches, emulating the GDI military. However, Nod Crawlers do not have access to the atmospheric drop pods used by GDI, and Nod science ministers chose to turn to an older, but more familiar technology: Burrowing. Since the Tiberium Control Network removed much of the underground Tiberium from the planet, an extensive network of tunnels and caves were created under the planet's surface. Nod Crawlers utilize burrowing technology to navigate through this maze of tunnels and emerge directly onto the battlefield, allowing Crawlers to be discreetly and secretly deployed to any location in the world. Additionally, every Crawler is outfitted with nanotech repair systems, exclusively developed by Nod science ministers from the Tacitus. Nod Crawlers are typically deployed in their base form with limited loadouts and no weaponry to reduce weight and travel time. Once on the field, the Crawler can use its construction capabilities to upgrade itself with weapons and other modules.

Not a bad profile. I like how they throw around character names from previous games. I wonder if they will play a bigger part, or just be a "name".

I heard that Nod EVA, sounds ok, if only it should sound more robotic like CABAL. Lastly, at least is also way better than the remix version of EotRS's EVA for GDI.

I really love the defense crawler in particular. The signature curved twin obelisks on a crawler are incredibly awesome.

Tru dat. I squealed like a schoolgirl when I heard those obelisks fire. They look incredibly sexy.

I hate how the laser are all wobbly. The lasers are supposed to be straight! That's some serious nit-picking, though.

The crawler is about the only unit on Nod's side that does look acceptable*, which is either a real shame since the whole concept behind the crawler is what is transforming this game, or at least because that means everything goes down from here (if you happen to like the gameplay changes).

* Still could use some improvement, 'acceptable' does not mean excellent.

Offensive crawlers seem rather tame imo. They are meant to be tough and mean, but don't seem any different than the other classes. Heck the defence class gets a big FU shield! :P

You guys are being pretty tough as nails on us this time around =) I do like that you have high expectations.

Just sayin, hehe.

Happy Holidays!

Hey sweet logo Apoc, that's the new logo for C&C4 I'm guessing? Looks like an improved Tiberium logo.
