I guess everyone is playing Starcraft II

Recommended Posts

I know a large group in here is already plugged up to battle.net for the next few days.

Even other developers close their office to play it over the next few days.

At Smule.com the app developers have gone to play Starcraft II leaving this message:

We give it up to the awesomeness that is StarCraft II.

Here at Smule HQ, we could pretend that we're busy creating awesome new expressive apps for the iPhone, but who are we kidding?

StarCraft II is LIVE, and everyone at Smule is on Battle.net right now. We will, if we can tear ourselves away from StarCraft, return to our regularly scheduled activities on Thursday.

Everyone plays it I guess, I'm almost on the edge of taking a small loan to pay for the game (My account is empty until Friday >< )

SC2 is great. ^_^

The missions actually last longer than 15 minutes unlike stupid C&C. :(

That was the best money I've spent on a game since RA2. Absolutely blew my expectations out of the water, and I'm not even close to completing this massive campaign.

actually, its requirements are apparently lower than those of C&C3.

I'm not playing it, don't have it.... doubt I will ever buy it. No interest and its a PC game.... I'm more of console gamer these days.

I've had enough of C&C bashing on these forums. Seen way to much lately. Yes C&C 4 sucked, yes we know C&C is a slump right now. But could everyone just forget it and move on.

No I am not interested in Starcraft 2. I know there are many hardcore fans out there who like it, but meh, and I thought it's kinda mentally mind**** insane to hear a friend was crying over for not being the early few to purchase the game. Dear lord.

I'm finally installing it now...

I also notice that Blizzard have retracted their region lock statements as well.

It will take 60 days but it will still happen...

Yes the whole region locked idea is lame. That being said I'm too scared to play online at the moment, cause the campaign is kinda kicking my ass on hard. HAHAHA! ^_^

Sorry but the title doesn't mean everyone is playing SCII. Right now I join Sonic and Malevolence on not buying and playing SCII. Some people elsewhere in the CNC community planned not to buy it.

The reason why is what is happening to the PC games lately, no LAN, Securom DRM and constant internet connection with a login status through the servers that won't last forever.

As for the early ratings from Metacritic, out of 6 critics SCII got an average of 97!! PCG and Gamespot have yet to review the game.

As one of the guys at GR.org mentioned, there almost HAS to be a LAN package Blizzard has made, if only because of all the Korean pro leagues etc; it may take a bit to be introduced, but I highly doubt there won't be one at all eventually.

As to what you said, Malevolence - I agree...the fanaticism of some of the fans is insane. Personally, I bought the game because Blizzard has a record of turning out solid RTS games, and as I mentioned above, it was well worth it. The awesome thing about them having such a long dev cycle to work with is they can put so much more attention to the details. You can really tell a lot of thought was put into the game, rather than just a checklist of "Create a storyline - update an engine a bit - throw some new units in there - add one new feature/twist" etc.

I played all the C&C games far more than Starcraft, but the sequel is going to be right up there on my list in due time I think, even if it doesn't pass the amount of time I spent on RA2/Renegade.

I understand how you guys feel... like protesting. I feel the same way for C&C these days, I won't buy the **** until it's worth the price.. It's simply unacceptable that C&C4 in my country is still more expensive than Starcraft II. I mean.. what the lawl :puke:
