sonofabandit 0 Posted March 26, 2005 Yeah I agree, mirages are very difficult when there is lag. Mirages are great when you have them at strategic positions and you have enough of them. I've seen entire columns of tanks get shredded because some mirages were sitting on a cliff. They're decent at tearing up the lighter base defences but I wouldn't use them to assualt a battle bunker, prism tower or telsa coil. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted March 28, 2005 Prisms for base defenses, Mirages for everything else. Except for aircraft. Thats for Elite IFVs and Aegis cruisers. Share this post Link to post
alleylee 0 Posted April 6, 2005 i use ifv all the way... use about 20, over run a little base... just basically destroy the MCV and all factories.. then the barracks... you're pretty much finished.. just prepare for the final assult.. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 7, 2005 Your IFV would get wasyted by a pack or Rinos or prisms. Just a heads up for you. Share this post Link to post
d_dawn 0 Posted April 12, 2005 Ya, I never use IFV's. Id say my favorite would half to be the Rhino tank. Its simple but very deadly. A PRism tank would come in close second. Yay, my first post Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 12, 2005 Mirage tank too. Just that the Rhino has much better armor, and (I tried this on Cuba allied mission) 2 Elite Grizzlies took on 1 Rhino. The Grizzlies won, but one was killed, the other knocked down to yellow. Rhinos deffinetly are worht the money. Good old fashioned Tanks. Share this post Link to post
sonofabandit 0 Posted April 12, 2005 I would rate Mirage tanks better than Rhinos. Eventhough they have less armor, they pack more punch, not to mention the cloaking ability. The most important thing is that they can quickly dish out alot of punishment before succumbing. They are the anti battle fortress unit. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 12, 2005 They do have more fire power, but they lack armor, but make it up in camo and speed. I'm kinda torn between the two. Fav tanks are Allies-Mirage Soviet-Rhino/Apoc (cant decide) Yuri-Magnetron Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted April 12, 2005 I like IFVs... You can do more with them thany any other unit, save the BF in YR. In RA2, packs of well used IFVs are very deadly. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 12, 2005 Dont kow if IFV counts as a tank, per say. But its can be very deadly. And the repair IFV is dead useful. Also handy way to move engineers around. Should have been a medic, a medical IFV would have made deploying GI's as a roadblock for vehicles guite effective. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted April 12, 2005 If the game was made for that in mind, that'd be great. As it stands, you cannot do that. Infantry cannot repair mechanical units and mechanical cannot heal organic (without healing the enemy as well). Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 12, 2005 The mechanic in RA was good, but thats the same as the Repair IFV. Too bad about the medical though, at least they could have had a medic Share this post Link to post
d_dawn 0 Posted April 12, 2005 Ya, that would be nice but medics would be a little useless, considering that an infantry's health bar is very small. Well, at least we have hospitals... Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 12, 2005 They're useful on "commando" missions/raids Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted April 13, 2005 Medics are great against tanks. Keep them infantry healed. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 14, 2005 Exactly! Keeps the Hero unit at optimal too. Share this post Link to post
Leona 0 Posted April 24, 2005 By far the most single versetaille tank available is the Gattling Tank, for minimum cost, you get maximum speed & a powerful anti-air & anti-infantry weapon. When Kirov Airships decend on your base, what good is a Rhino Tank, or a Prism Tank? When the enemy sends massed conscript rushes what are your IFVs going to do then? They may be weak armourwise, but they do their intended job better than any other tank does theirs, & they do it at half the cost. Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted April 24, 2005 o.O that's why you put a sniper/seal in your IFV when infantry comes near... Share this post Link to post
Leona 0 Posted April 24, 2005 Yes, but think of the cost, for that price you could get 2 or 3 Gattling tanks, which would be far more effective. Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted April 24, 2005 true... but i personally dislike the rest of the yuri army... nothin wrong with it i just dislike the idea of using slaves an ebil things like that... and true, the IFV seal thing may be expensive, but you don't have to buy a seal for every one. get however many IFV's you want, one more and a seal... put seal in ifv, defence against everything! n.n and IFV's are good against tanks too Share this post Link to post
Leona 0 Posted April 24, 2005 Meh, I like Yuri, I like all defensive sides. Besides, enemies are good for my economy, if you know what I mean. Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted April 24, 2005 *sweatdrops* and your brother calls me evil... at least i don't feed poor cute gi's to the grinder because i need $10 XD;;; Share this post Link to post
Leona 0 Posted April 24, 2005 Aww but they are all brainwashed, that is why they all talk the same. I'm doing them a favour turning them into doggy chow. Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted April 24, 2005 exactly... all brainwashed. sure they might not have any intelligence, but they all look cute and they all obey your orders... and they are cheap! :B oh what fun i could have Share this post Link to post
Leona 0 Posted April 24, 2005 Really subtle with the inuendos there. Really if you're going to make inuendos do it on something more worthwhile than GIs. *shudders* eww, GIs. Share this post Link to post
