Renegade X: Black Dawn Released

Recommended Posts

To the delight of many fans, Renegade X: Black Dawn was released just moments ago. In this first standalone release you can fight as Havoc for the Global Defense Initiative against the Brotherhood of Nod in a single player environment built from scratch on the Unreal Development Kit. The download size about 4 GB. Here are all currently established mirrors:

Most of the download links are hanging or not responding (must be the crowded servers). I'll wait till next week.

From experience, the MPF mirror won't get you anywhere (no offense Zunnie). The torrent is the only one that works for everyone right now, but it's also a tad slow.

The last test build of TCW took me hours to download. I usually download 1 GB files in one hour or so.

You must be far away from the webserver then because i get very decent speeds usually...

The torrent is your best bet. Even though it's sluggish, you can at least pause and continue.

With MegaUpload gone, the only alternative to this is the one thing I would download is split parts; I prefer Gamefront mirrors with 8 parts of 500 MB.

A 3.9 GB download for a 1-2 hr gameplay is too big for its high quality. I don't think that file is compressed enough and it's not worth the download. Sorry, but my 768 kbps DSL cannot last this for a whole day. If the official website has many servers and it lets me pause and resume the download via Internet Download Manager, I would accept this, but most gaming sites do not allow the pause and resume of a huge file. Also I don't use Torrent.

Okay, ask the devs and do it. People can only benefit.

*random whine sounds*

You just don't quit, do you?

I actually understand and even sympathize with zocom7. Sorry, but that sounded a bit mean on your part...

Yeah, I'm torrenting. While I had problems at first, I'm downloading at a decent speed (600-1000kB/s), and I'll have it done within an hour.

Okay, lemme put it this way...

A 3.9 GB download for a 1-2 hr gameplay is too big for its high quality. I don't think that file is compressed enough and it's not worth the download.

First you're joyful about RenX, then you say it isn't worthy just because it's big? UT3 disc takes 6.5 GB, and the smallest pirated rip is still bigger than RenX, which is technologically superior to UT3!

Sorry, but my 768 kbps DSL cannot last this for a whole day.

Everyone is in the same problem.

If the official website has many servers and it lets me pause and resume the download via Internet Download Manager, I would accept this, but most gaming sites do not allow the pause and resume of a huge file.

Firefox has that ability natively.

Also I don't use Torrent.

Your problem. It's the official torrent that was posted on the website.

Just added some extra info to the news post and put a better pic in there ;)

All mirrors are really slow for me right now, no rush though. Will download and play it on Monday or Tuesday sometime.

You're lucky. I'm torrenting it and it's still kind of slow...

Whelp, my first impressions:

I have to install it on my friend's computer later tonight. My computer runs it at a speed I can count in my head. 2 frames per second.

Additionally, on easy mode, you can literally sit there and do nothing, and you'll accomplish the first objective.

Downloaded it, will install tomorrow. Also, the website's traffic has been lowered.

I'm currently getting it through torrent right now. Getting 1.7 MB/s :D

can't wait to play this :D

well, about the slow speed. The Problem is that Ren X was in a kind of a DOS ATTACK when so many players send a download request session.

I can't get it to work, every time I download it, I get an error saying the UDK package is corrupt and to reinstall.
