Sonic 295 Posted June 9, 2013 Another day means another Generals card for the new Command & Conquer - Free To Play has been posted on the official C&C Facebook page. Today's card is a look at the APA Urban Combat General, Beast. Make sure you check out his his exclusive specialities, such as Gatling Cannons and Tear gas. If you haven't seen the Generals cards for Mercury Red or Dr. Thrax yet, you will find them in our C&C - Free To Play Concept Art gallery. Share this post Link to post
Plok 327 Posted June 9, 2013 Might be interesting, but I don't quite support moving Gatling cannons to the general-specific category... 2 Share this post Link to post
AZ-Stalker 88 Posted June 9, 2013 (edited) I would just like to point out that those armour pieces (shoulder pads or whatever) cannot possibly "stay in place" as part of this guy's loadout while in motion or running. The large protective pads, most notably on his arms, would often get disslocated and would "dance around" if the the only connectors to Beast's clothing are those simplistic straps. As a frequent user of knee and elbow protective pads, unless the ones this General uses are additionally connected to his BDU by some other means which aren't shown in more detail in the provided picture, I think it's safe to say that Beast's clothing wouldn't hold up if it were real and would just make him less combat effective. Just putting it out there... A more direct hi-res link. Oh, and by the way, the Teargas information is either incomplete/cut off at the end, or a grammar oversight. Sloppy... Gben 20 Posted June 10, 2013 Out of curiosity - what does the writing on his pockets say? Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 291 Posted June 10, 2013 Looks like 骠骑 ("valiant knight") and 常幐 (no idea...). Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 40 Posted June 10, 2013 What are the chances that "ghost", "roach", "soap" and maybe "price" will be general names in this C&C F2P game? Beast? I have yet to hear that code name in a COD game. Share this post Link to post
Gben 20 Posted June 10, 2013 Thanks, since I thought it was a generalised Asian alliance - I was curious about it - were they going to use a specific language or a made up one? Share this post Link to post

keithktam 2 Posted June 10, 2013 Might be interesting, but I don't quite support moving Gatling cannons to the general-specific category... i have to agree its kinda weird... Looks like 骠骑 ("valiant knight") and 常幐 (no idea...). 常幐 is "always" a winner. they both act as "lucky" sticker, like those red paper with chinese writing when you visit china town in chinese new year. and i think, i thank that 骠骑 was used even before the famous ancient chinese civil war "the three empire"... I actually like this one, i think its pretty cool Share this post Link to post
Johnnyxp64 20 Posted June 10, 2013 personally don't care about the names, (sure its silly a bit) but i am interested to see finally some fun and not micro management, rts action! Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 40 Posted June 10, 2013 Last time I heard about the "beast" name in a RTS was a call sign for a pilot's name in Mech Commander. Share this post Link to post
