Thought they were people he had problems with. Of course I cannot say who was in the wrong in this case, but I have had problems with people who come onto message boards to cause trouble. Trolls, is what they are commonly referred to as. A friend of mine had big problems over a year ago, the people at the board he was on were obsessed and it grew into stalking, death threats, he had to change his email and everything. They still obsess over him even though the person who was running the board and part of the trolling booted him from the group fifteen months ago.
