Arificial 0 Posted April 13, 2005 Well, me and some friends were at a location of an old abandoned military base. We were exploring the woods, and found an old rusty Transport truck, and an abandoned tank. We didn't go inside the tank, but we did go inside the truck, AND IT RAN!! We didn't take it because I didn't bring my liscense, but we are going to go back tommorow and pick it up. Share this post Link to post

We didn't take it because I didn't bring my liscense, but we are going to go back tommorow and pick it up. I know you're from Russia, where do you live? To find a Tank and a workable truck is...like.....awesome. Never happen in the States. (US) Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 14, 2005 Still, even if one of us found a tank, it would either get taken by the military if it worked, taken by a historical society or museum, or scrapped. Be awesome though. Even a working military truck. BTW Is the truck CCCP (USSR) or CIS? (Russian) Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted April 14, 2005 yeah... Russia is really a mess after the Cold War. Too much hardware, not enough dollars to keep it up (hehe... even more proof that communism just doesn't work). There has to be abandoned hardware like that throughout the country. It's what inspired that Renegade 2 concept work. Share this post Link to post

There has to be abandoned hardware like that throughout the country. It's what inspired that Renegade 2 concept work. Communism works, just not under the communist economy. Look at North Korea, They have a republican economy, and they work.... Kinda. And to answer your questions, I live next to Magnatorisk, Indusrial rich city and Very wealthy city. My father makes about 1,000,000 a year because he owns some of them. And the tank didn't run, we found that out when we went back for the truck, there was skeletons in it! I know, I sat on one. I screamed like a little school girl when I sat on it, and I am not afraid to admit it. Couldn't tell what truck, It was kinda rusty, but from the model, it looked like CCCP Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 14, 2005 Are you gona keep the truck? Fix up a bit? Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted April 14, 2005 at least take apart the tank and salvage whatever u can...might find some amunition like tank rounds or machine gun bullets ...you could always have it towed to ur backyard and remove the skeletons..and have it as a little toy u can sit in and pretend to drive. I would love that....Or you could sell it to a wealthy foreign antique collector, etc. 8) u obviously have an internet connection....describe the tank u saw so we can try to identify it, or try to do it urself by some online research.....i would like to know the type of tank... Arificial 0 Posted April 14, 2005 It was a T-72 tank, and I'm keeping the truck, no matter what you say my friends, and I did some research, adn the truck is woth 250,000 dollars mint condition. I'm going to fix it up a bit, and keep it as my car. It's better than the piece of crap im driving now. Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted April 14, 2005 Don't drive it..it might get stolen!! Sell the tank after u polish it up. then use that 250,000 to get a brand new car. Here, cars are around 5000$+. you could buy lotta cars with 250,000  . I guess ur a rich guy now..hehe    ....congrats on ur new found wealth. Sell the truck!! GeneralZ 0 Posted April 14, 2005 that would be very nice... the problem is getting it into the country without arounding suspicion…. Custons official: “What is this rusty looking tank??!” “uhh, it’s a model tank…for educational purposes” “It looks real to me”…..why am I in jail for attempted transport of weapons into the US?? Uh-oh Share this post Link to post

Uh-oh  I would visit you every day to laugh and gloat  Still, wouldnt that be quite the birthday present. "And here' Uncle Geoge! With a realy nice looking, er......tank. T-72, a bit used from the looks, but repaired and polished, comes with working gun and turret!. Retail value of varies upon user/buyer." The Truck would be awesome to have. Can you post some pics of either the Tank or the truck or better yet, BOTH? Share this post Link to post

Acerz492 1 Posted April 14, 2005 *laughs* That rocks, finding a tank and a truck. I wonder how the poor guys ended up pushing up daisies? Speaking of which, and getting back on track, hidden places ( ): I remember in the dead of night, my mate Matthew and I slipped outta the house, caffinated and strucken with insomnia, and we decided to explore the Conifer Grove (residential part of Takanini) area, we ended up near this patch of forest which was probably some sort of reserve, or something. I don't know Takanini very well, even though I've been here for a couple of years. Anyway, we got into this patch of forest, and stumbled across this abandoned shack. Even though it was almost pitch-black, (no moon out and very cloudy), we decided to go and check it out. I was, honestly, scared ****less. Haha, yeah so what, you would be to. Inside we found: A rusty tank of petrol Rusty cans of food, dating back from the late 40's Empty water canteens (would've kept, but they were rusty and had holes in them) Rusted knife of some sort, was quite large and heavy, probably a machete, but I broke it. My mistake. It was brittle as hell. A very very old back pack of some sort (I cleaned it out when I got home and kept it. Still got it somewhere too) Compass and maps and other navigation stuff (Matt kept these) A lighter, and an old unopen cigerette packet. Sort of mint condition. Went to smoke one of the cigerettes but it was absolutely foul. So I chucked them and made the lighter explode. Then I smacked myself upside the head because it would've been really awsome to have (the lighter that is) And, to top it all off.... A rotting skeleton. Yummy. So we both tore out of there, and didn't stop till we got home. I didn't sleep a wink for three days straight. *shudders* Mind you, we both had a pretty good idea what the person was doing: Waiting for the Japs to invade New Zealand, which they never did, and we didn't find a radio of any sort so he wouldn't have known that the war was over, and he probably just lived out there and died in his sleep or something. Pretty scary stuff. I ain't going near that place again, ever. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 14, 2005 Read about a Jap machine gunner that hid out on an island for 50 years after the war, and they fould him when he tried to gun down some civilians. He completely broke down when he found out that his country lost over 50 years before. Share this post Link to post
Thierry 0 Posted April 14, 2005 And now I found this big circular ditch 4 feet deep..... Yes, the hard way.... Share this post Link to post

Arificial 0 Posted April 14, 2005 Read about a Jap machine gunner that hid out on an island for 50 years after the war, and they fould him when he tried to gun down some civilians. He completely broke down when he found out that his country lost over 50 years before. The Japanese and American Government gave him a full pardon and hero's welcome when they landed in Tokyo, Japan. And I'm geting the pics developed, I bought another computer, and not a digital camera. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted April 14, 2005 I think he mentioned a different Tank on Ebay, not yours. Share this post Link to post
Arificial 0 Posted April 14, 2005 Yea I know, I'm talking about the Truck. I chipped off the rust and repainted it. I was driving it one day, and some historian guy offered me 750,000 dollars. Still considering to sell it for 1 million dollars. Share this post Link to post
