Acerz492 1 Posted June 19, 2005 Hrm, now here is something which I haven't seen yet: Country Currencies! Here's the thing to do: tell us the name of your country's currency, and then show us piccies! Example: New Zealand Dollar. Piccies! - Our 5 cent coin. The 10 cent coin. 20 cent coin. 50 cent (sucks ) coin. Our dollar coin. and our two-dollar coin. Onto the notes: Our 5 and 10 dollar notes. Our 20 dollar note. Our 50 dollar note. Last but not least, the elusive 100 dollar note. Sorry about the poor quality of these images. I actually took them using my phone's camera While counting my till at the end of a shift at work. So, what does other country money look like? Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted June 19, 2005 I hate American currency. When I was in the states last year I kept getting confused. They all look the same... But I did feel special have about 30 notes in my pocket... Of course they were all $1 bills... But still.. Share this post Link to post
chickendippers 1 Posted June 19, 2005 Well http://www.royalmint.com make british money...don't think there's anything about circulating currency there though. The £2 coin is stupid; Cash Machines should give out £5 notes again! I agree with you luk3us about american currency. Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted June 19, 2005 How?? The faces and numbers are different.... and the potrait sizes too. Dollars are much simpler: 1$, 5$, 20$, 50$, and 100$ The 20$ has a pig portrait compared the the 1$ bill for example. And if ur American, you cannont mistake the faces on the bills Share this post Link to post
Dark_Kodiak 0 Posted June 19, 2005 Here some good ones dollar bill (with magical powers really works) 2 dollar bill....... nothing special read text 10 dollars..... 20 dollars..... 50 dollars..... mine or someone elses???? millon dollars....... http://members.cox.net/crandall11/money/spider/ heres something cool to do on your spare time will not do coins cuz this taking too long EDIT : I hae tried to make these links work for days now......... never worked, xept for the first 2 ? mebbe i doin something wrong? BWare 0 Posted June 19, 2005 American currency is very logical... I don't see why people would have a hard time understanding it :? Share this post Link to post
Guest MadBadger Posted June 19, 2005 no some people are v idiotic when it comes to yank money (not me). On the NY trip this boy borrowed a $100 bill of someone as he only had 5 $1 bills on him and had left his other cash at the hotel. He goes into the nike shop to get a $1 bag guess what happened..... yup he gave the till lady the $100 bill and she said nothing about it. weve been taking the piss outa him all year for that. I heard US bills are gona have diff colours soon, is that true? as then the phrase man. 'you look like a million $' woman. 'what green and crumpled?' wont make sense. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted June 20, 2005 I don't see why people would have a hard time understanding it :? They're all the same colour. All the same size.. And they all look the same on one side. Besides when they're in your wallet they all look the same. No difference.. Maybe its just me though... I don't like your pennies... Gees... After my trip which was only for a month I had so many... BWare 0 Posted June 20, 2005 I just look at the numbers in the corners of the money, and have them arranged by value in my wallet. It's just second nature. As for pennies, yeah they are a bitch. There's always been talk of eliminating them entirely, which would be nice, but they're just too necessary. You have to be able to make odd change, unfortunately Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted June 20, 2005 lol.. Speaking of eliminating the 1c penny.. Guess what they're be doing over here next year? Eliminating the 5c coin... lol.. Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted June 20, 2005 lol.. Speaking of eliminating the 1c penny.. Guess what they're be doing over here next year? Eliminating the 5c coin... lol.. awesome... I say we eliminate coins and just use bills. If you need change for a 1, then tough. Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted June 20, 2005 Thinking about it, if it wasn't for the 25c American Coin, half of the movies from Hollywood may never have worked. The quarter is probably the most well known coin the world based upon its popularatity in movies. Watch any movie that deals with money, or deals with a conversation in a phone booth or payment of a bill in a cafe and you'll always hear the mention of the famous quarter. BWare 0 Posted June 20, 2005 It is true... the quarter is really the only worthwhile change we have. Share this post Link to post
Guest MadBadger Posted June 21, 2005 you should have a Quater and a 99c coin as the only change then you can buy $5.99 stuff easy  Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted June 22, 2005 I have never seen the logic behind something being #.99, why not just round it up into a whole unit??? The amount of pennies you get that you never use unless you buy numerous items and the total is a small amount over. That's why regardless of what I buy now when it's £2.99 for example, I just tell them to keep the penny. It's not going to break the bank, and if I do take it, it will just stay in my wallet or end up being thrown away anyway.... Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted June 22, 2005 They round it up here.. .... (Actually that 1c is sent to the NZ government... But don't tell anyone... Its a secert...) Share this post Link to post
dapperdan 0 Posted June 22, 2005 They don't round it up to say £3.00 because psychologically £2.99 sounds cheaper. it's part of the marketing strategy. Damn us humans and our feeble minds! :? Share this post Link to post

Would you rather pay $10 or $9.95? Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted June 22, 2005 No one actually digs out the change anyway, they just get hte number up in bills. Want to annoy someone? Save up all your pennies (like I do) and buy something thats like $10-20 bucks or something. Then count out all the pennies down to every single last one on the counter. See what the sales clerk does. Skip a few dollars, like only give them 700 and see if they notice. Share this post Link to post
chickendippers 1 Posted June 22, 2005 It's collecting in a basket on my desk. My dad took all his coppers to one of those Coinstar machines and got like £300! Share this post Link to post
dapperdan 0 Posted June 22, 2005 i always collect my loose change in those money bags then just get it changed at the bank when i have enough. Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted June 22, 2005 My dad does that too. He has a huge container filled with pennies, another with dimes, and another with quarters. And it all adds up to quite a lot too Its useful for dipping into when u need exact change Share this post Link to post

If you ever did that while I was working, I would recount the whole thing to be sure. Thankfully I'm good with money and I can tell when people are trying to short-change me like that, and I can do it quickly. I have a nack for it . So it wouldn't annoy me, it would amuse me, because I have successfuly foiled any and all attempts to do shortchange me, and I know I'll always be able to. It's funny catching them out too. Customers stammer and stutter, and all I say, is: "Pay up, or no food." Gets them every single time. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted June 27, 2005 I usually just dump lots of coins on the counter and wait while the attendant counts it all.... :D Although some of the idiots at Mc Donalds can't count for ****... This one chick kept losing count.... Moron..... Share this post Link to post
