Vista can be run in 64 bit mode. Which when more applications are configured to run like that, will result in increase speeds.

well according to the Microsoft rep of the south island NZ, vista can run on the lower end PC's that Dell, HP, Mercury, etc. but this will be the smallest version with very few features, the more expensive ones are going to be decked full of junk ( ) that most of us wont need, will need the Higher End PC Components.

The minimum specs...

 

* A modern processor (at least 800MHz1).

* 512 MB of system memory.

* A graphics processor that is DirectX 9 capable.

 

So yeah, though I'd assume that whilst it my run, it probably won't be able to actually do anything. But still.

Well actually there should only be two icons on the desktop. Its annoying when installing new programs and they just seem to have their little icons pop up everywhere... Meh.

I finally have a custom desktop. I screwed with my color schemes to my desires, and I made a wallpaper devoted to my girflriend, Tess. It's not brilliant and hardly anything to be proud of, because it is my first ever attempt at computer graphics. I have never done anything previous to this other than rotate a picture, nor taken any computer classes for grahpics. Or. Anything.

 

So yeah, it looks trashy, but I may get better eventually. It was done using Adobe PhotoDeluxe 2.0. I don't know if there's a program to remove backgrounds, but I did it with a paintbrush at 5x magnification. It took around 2 hours to make.

 

 

 

Also, I have an LCD screen and excellent eyesight, so my resolution is 1280x1024, which is the highest windows will give you. I also use small font sizes ( 8 or 10 ). I love being able to fit 3x the content in a screen as most people, even though I have a relatively small/medium sized computer screen. It drivers my parents insane, they can't read it, but my 20/15 vision and I love it.
