They would not be in that example. The use of quotation marks here is to define "txt tlk", the end of the sentence would then need a full stop, which would come AFTER the quotation marks.

 

Anyway, it should probably be "anti-txt tlk" being as the inverted commas are merely highlighting a "non word", which would mean that adding anti to it would make THAT a "non word" too.

American English allows this rule, however 'so called' British English does not.

Hi my name is Anthony and I prefer to speak whatever I want. I don't really care about what type of English is better. I prefer to speak like I am right now regardless what it is classified as.
