Anyone else have this tactic?

Recommended Posts

Sometimes on YR... because they suckified the Soviets and took away their psychic tech, I use a simple tactic on LARGE bases.

1: "Hollow out" a base, with a nuclear strike. Let the radiation clear.

2: Land 4 seige choppers while the power is out

3: Now eat the base out from the inside.

4: Mop them up, or maybe use the seige choppers as a distraction for, your Rhino Rush.

i find that unreliable because most people i fight use tanks as their AAs and AT... even pillboxes will get to you..

When the last online game with superweapons where the participants weren't complete ****ing n00bs? Right, NEVER! Superweapons are for pansies. Real men use tanks.

4 seiges wont last long at all, you'll need about 40+ jsut to keep them alive

and what N00b keeps all his power in the middle of his base (besides me :P )

let me think about that... umm... superweapons off: check, defence parameters strong: check, ample space for defending units to move: check. who cares if they put the power in the center of their base? putting it outside of your base is nothing but risky... how about those spies and flying dishes? like most people said: superweapons are for noobs, there aren't much that have huge explosive, and since i like to use korea, the demo trucks are useless, the kirov airship usually doesn't get to my base, so what's that about being a "n00b" putting your power in the center?

I think what he means is that it's n00bish to cluster all your powr plants together, rather than in the center of your base.

/ what he said /

SW's may be for n00bs, but they do pack a concentrated punch, and that can still be quite devastating to an "expiriences" player such as yourself. But its also hard to keep them in the center of your base without clustering. I have found a solution to this problem, but it is somewhat difficult to pull off.

Secondary bases, but watch the spies and disks. In fact, its best ot build up a secondary base as strong as a primary (funding allowing for) with exception to structures with build limits.

Destruction superweapons are for n00bs; eg Nuke, Weather Storm. The IC and CS are excellent tools of war and require practical, strategical deployment.

Nukes and such will not bother an experienced player. He'll have crushed you before you get that far and if he doesn't, he'll drain your economy and you won't be able to pay the pricetag.

typical skeptic /

I kid, I kid (or do I? :P )

Weatherstorm ain powerful enough for attacking anyhow. Nuke is ok, but not good. Psychic Dominator is dead useful (if you can pull it off)

In addition to the GM, CS, and IC of course

Superweapons can be great for taking out the power or weakening defences. Though I still think the Iron Curtain is waaaaay too powerful, in the right hand it's much much better than the nuke.

But I'll just mostly stick to tanks

I dont think its too pawerful. A Magnet tron will render those Iron Curtained tanks useless, as will Yuri clones, Psychic towers, and chaos drones. If you are the allies, you can chrono shift their ICed tanks into the water or an enemy's base. If your CS aint ready....well, I always thought the Allies had the favor of the balance anyway.

Iron Curtained tanks can't be mind-controlled.

so much for that plan.

Then Magnetron away !! Or better yet, dont let them get an IC up and running :P

Yeah just overrun it with prism tanks using the chronosphere!

You have to get that far. Something tells me a Soviet player will stop you from getting and using a CS. :P

He'll have to push trough my tank barrier first.

1st problem with your "solution"

Soviets have the best amored and armed tanks ingame. Second, a good Sviet player will have his tanks knocking down your front door before you have the tech for prism tanks.

Listen to Fen. I pwn3d him in a game on his mod. Russia vs Libya. :Pbutinearlylosttohisfingdemotrucks

Then again, when I tried Allies vs Yuri, I was royally wasted by him  8)

Yeah but Yuri's another story. And of course, demo trucks can be the most annoying unit in the game!

I was playing around too much against ya, Cygnus. It wouldn't happen again.

And yeah, I royally owned you as Yuri without a Lab. :P

Yes you did own me outright. Stupid M1 tanks :P

I've never had great skills against a good Yuri player. Just ask Acerz (and hes not even brilliant as Yuri)

as for the Soviet thing...yes you were playing aorund, but that end stunt with the MCV was just pitiful. Almost worked too :P

HINT to all players: Dont leave a Soviet enemy with a WF and a Refinery, especially when he has wasted yur base and you are running with an MCV and scattered troops. 8)
