The Underground!

Does anywhere you live have an underground racing scene? Didcot where I live has exploded into a huge modding culture, with many guys here attempting to max out their cars with all sorts of goodies...

 

How did a small town like mine happen to come into this. Well there's a guy who lives a couple of streets away who modded his ford Focus, and raced it around the town and around the county of Oxfordshire. It got to a point where he maxed it out so much with a Custom body kit, and high spec performance parts, the insurance was too high, and it wasn't road legal...

 

Now he tours the UK making a lot of money out of his car. And joined a company called Mynheer who promote and sell his custom body kit and parts... This car simply kicks ass!

I've actually been thinking of pimping out my van. Paint it black, slap on chrome trim, drop some sixteens in the back and plunk in a small block V8 for power. Yeah... That would be a killer minivan.

 

Anywho, car modding is pretty big in the States. I see quite a few where I work and I get to drive some too. Damn they're fun to drive.

Same around here. But the cops are persistent nazis, once they spot a convoy of cars they get the undercover pigs to follow. But they're easy to spot: Nice cars, shoddy wheels. And they're always Holdens.

yea the local blvd is the racing spot.....many ppl round here mod their cars...i mean im in NYC

I have an '02 Mitsubishi Eclipse, and I've been toying with the idea of adding a turbo to it. I know a guy who would install it for free, and it could easily up the horsepower to near 400

in NY you can get a junior license at 17...and a regular one at 18...but you can only get a junior license at 17 if you take driveers ed. :shock:

Ya can get you're learner license here at 15. Then I think 6 months later you're restricted license. Then 18 months till you're full license.

 

So you should be able to get your full before you're 18. There abouts.

The engine would be expensive but the paint job and trim would be doable. Hmmm... Actually, I may keep my fiberglass bits white and have a two-tone van. That would still look pretty good... to me anyway.

 

I still think it would be sweet to ride around in a pimped out 1994 Dodge Caravan.

Not at all. I feel like more of a dork in one of those than I do in my van.

id take a nice van over an eclipse any day...although the new eclipse isnt bad lookn...

 

if you pimped the van out like with tints and a nice paint job along with rims and maybe even nice headlights/tailights...it would b cluch :wink:

 

but, it would complete the whole thing if you spruced up the inside...stereo face...w/e

 

this all is of course considering whether or not the car is worth investing all of that money into...otherwise get a new car :shock:
