Wierd designs do not matter in real combat... It's what the weapon has to offer.

Are you seriously kidding me? The weapon is only 1/3 of the fight. The equipment (IE fighter) and mentality are just as important. you cannont win if you are missing one of the three.

 

Suppose you load an F-22 and a MiG-29 with the same Air-to-Air missiles. Put similarly trained pilots inside. Then have them duel each other. Guess which fighter will win? Thats right, the 'weird design' of the F-22. Weird designs tend to look weird because they have never been seen before, and most of the time have blistering performance compared to earlier models.

 

FYI the F-15 pic i posted is just a technology demonstrator. There are no combat models of the F-15 Active (unless you own Ace Combat 04)

I love the F-86 Sabre. Although sometimes I do wonder how hte MiG-15 and the F-86 turned out to be so similar in appearace to each other.
