Cygnus X-1 12 Posted March 8, 2006 The X-36 prob wont ever fly. Stupid budget cuts. NASA has had so much money cut from it that its even having trouble maintaining Earth Watch satelites (weather, ect) Course, the military and private Satelites are still at full tilt....(that includes GPS) EDIT: forgot me plane  looks like the Soviet pilots dodging Allied AA (RA) jk Share this post Link to post

(ha) crazy 0 Posted March 24, 2006 the RETIRED f-14........ still better than the f/a-18 even after retirement the only reason the navy retired it is because it was designed only for the interceptor role Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted March 25, 2006 You still cant beat the Phoenix air-to-air missile, which can still only be carried by the F-14 Share this post Link to post

Cygnus X-1 12 Posted March 26, 2006 The only true "non-stealth" stealth plane  I belive 1 or more was shot down over Yugoslavia in the late 90's because it was detected with side facing radar. heres a real stealth plane for you Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted March 27, 2006 *slaps RABL in the face* jk No, of course its not the raptor, its the YF-23. The other stealth fighter concept that went up against the raptor to see which one was favored by the Air Force, and thus would make the production cut. Sadly, this baby didnt. Although the Raptors that have been deployed so far have preformed much better than they were intended to. 8) Share this post Link to post
Alphabear 11 Posted March 27, 2006 Yeah the design of that stealth fighter has limitations with its frame that the F-22 doesnt. Most notably the manouverability. Share this post Link to post
Inferno 22 Posted March 27, 2006 Raptors are cool, they can fly supersonic without using the afterburner 8) Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted March 27, 2006 In all respects, the YF-23 matched the Raptor in everyaspect, with very little exception. I think the Raptor has a slightly larger payload capacity, and it is slightly more manuverable. Or at least, thats how it was designed. As it turns out, the Raptor royally pwns all SU-35's and SU-37's in any manuver, and can pull off some that not even the famed SuHukoi Jets can attempt. EDIT: Need a pic  Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted March 28, 2006 Gasp! That, my friend, is the SU-37 Terminator. here is an SU-47 Berkut granted, that is a false image, because to shoot down the F-22, you need to be able to see it on your radar 8) Share this post Link to post
