Command & Conquer 3 is Coming!

Recommended Posts

I liked the dynamics of Dune 2 (!) with its 3 way everyone hates everyone way of playing. Itd be sweet so see a C&C game with 3 factions and a risk-style singleplayer campaign where you decided where to attack as well as commanding the battles.

I dunno, maybe there will be a 3rd house
Its and GDI and Nod once again, there is a un-named 3rd side though.

Odds are its The Forgotten, I want the alien race though, EG The Scrin.

The forgotten should remain a special, unplayable side, like in TS. But I mostly wonder what's gonna happen to Cabal, are we gonna see him/it again?

And to react upon the article: GDI seems to be able to push tiberium back. Maybe the Scrin have come to "put things back into order"?

Since when does GDI seem to be reversing Tiberium? Remember, the part of hte Tacitus that GDI had only started decoding at the end of FS. And by that time, Earth was pretty much lost. Even in the arctic regions, Tiberium was spreading, growning, and mutating. Plus with the Philedelphie knocked out of the sky by Nod missiles and the Kodiak downed by a particullarly violent Ion Storm, GDI is running low on research and development labs. Any Earth-based ones are in jeapordy of Tiberium infestation, Nod, Mutants, or Forgotten attacks. Not to mention the ever increasing strength of the ion storms. And, without the Philedelphia, GDI has lost its drop pods and drop ship capabilities, unless they have constructed and maintained launch pads for launching new equipment into space and rebuilding the station.

I think they have done this, at least to some extent. After all, that Ion Cannon poster in C$C TFD looked like it was a whole new Ion Cannon.

Who knows? (besides King and Louis Castle :P ) what EA will do? ( )

Correction Cygnus, the Space station does not get shot outta the sky by missiles, especially not in TS. That was the alternate ending.... One of Nod's Superweapons in C&C 3 is the Nuclear fireball,, now that does blow the space station outta the sky, and you should get to see that in the intro and maybe the upcoming trailer

Moving on to the topic at hand, it makes me laugh that people think the forgotten will be the third side. In comparison to GDI and Nod, militarily they are weak. By 2047 these products of Nod's Tiberium research would have mutated beyond recognition, and really most would have either died, or become part of the wildlife living in Red Zones. They pose very little threat to the 2 world superpowers.

Although I do not know how the story continues, there are 2 distinct possibilities of either the Scrin, or indeed Cabal being the 3rd side. Now my betting is that hopefully EA will be following the pre-written C&C storyline, and if that's correct we'll see a scrin side controlled by Cabal and Kane.

Kane is probably revengeful, to have Nod and GDI seek temporary alliance during the aftermath of the 2nd Tiberium War, and this would have been unforgivable. Kane's vision and purpose is to seek world domination. Although sounding extreme, something tells me that Kane could be the immortal Scrin Emperor. Or he himself could defect to the Scrin to complete his personal mission. But however you look at it, Cabal is involved. And since Cabal and Kane are one mind, one entity, there's gonna be alot of interesting things going on in the plot.

Don't be suprised if we see Kane as leader of both Nod and the Scrin. There's a very high chance of it happening in my book! And I can see the community screaming murder at EA for doing it. But I've been thinking this for years, and it just seems like the right road to go down. It certainly would be an interesting plot to follow. Kane leading the scrin while attempting to bring down GDI through brute force, and destroying Nod internally through false leadership. That would rock!!!

What about the Southern Cross station?

Excellent! Do you have any idea when it will be released (or what will possibly be in it?)

:D Now THAT'S the kind of thing I'm looking forward to seeing :D

I can't WAIT to see the concept work on the freakishly mutated Tiberian life. I mean, just read The Silo. You know I've been thinking about it :D

Good. That is definitely what the ending of Firestorm hinted at, so I would be surprised if they didn't capitalize on it somehow. CABAL/Kane should absolutely be side #3.

Although sounding extreme, something tells me that Kane could be the immortal Scrin Emperor.

Uh... maybe, but this could be so easily botched and end up ruining the C&C legacy. Seriously, it could be very cheesy. However, if it IS done well, it could be awesome.

Or he himself could defect to the Scrin to complete his personal mission.

This seems more likely. I like the idea that Kane's goals for Earth just happen to line up with the Scrin, and he basically sees them as gods. It's an alliance of 2 freakishly powerful groups. The third side shouldNOT be the Scrin... just the CABAL/Kane group with maybe some phantom assistance. The Scrin should remain as shrouded in mystery as possible. I will rue the day when they become playable, and we see them dying by the hundreds on the battlefield :x

Most likely at E3, people who live in california and nearby areas who are part of the C&C community will catch it with cameras, and there's a chance EA might release it for download. If not it'll be on the 1001 online gaming mags around the internet. And we'll have it too ;)

What's likely to be in it? well they may reveal the 3rd side, although that is unlikely at this stage, but I wouldn't rule it out. We'll certainly have live in-game footage, and most likely a deeper look into the storyline. Plus numerous new units to ponder over I'm sure.

Oh and those going to E3, watch out for Aaron Kaufman. He'll be riding around the EA booths. Trust me he's not a little kid on his scooter causing trouble, it really is him! :P

You know, I grew up pretty near to where EA is located, and I still have a ton of family over there.... hmm, I wonder if it would be worth a trip this summer.....

I thought that when we saw him in Red Alert 1, maybe he was here to "set us up the bomb". ;)

Yeah, I always thought that Nod came from the former USSR, hence why in C&C you had missions all through Europe trying to wipe out Nod.

if you read the manual, it reckons Nod came from a whole bunch of smaller terrorist factions, including "the IRA, Islamic Jihad and Khmer Rouge".

I think killing Nadia kind of fits it with Kings explanation of how Kane could defect from Nod, and be a part of the Scrin or whatever. I dont think thats the case, but it certainly fits.

I thought that kane was a scrin in disguise like MIB style. They might be using him to weaken millitary forces for an invasion. But if that were so it would be smarter not to have wars as war increases technological advance

well even if scrin are smart...they can foul up..."even the wisest man doesn't know everything"

"even the wisest man doesn't know everything"

Sure, but how does that apply to aliens?

That's the point. They're more than men. To actually see them would be to take away almost completely from the mystery and their apparent power.
