C&C 3: Tiberium Wars Hollywood Cast Revealed

Recommended Posts

A report from 1UP has revealed that an impressive cast has been chosen to flim the live action sequences. From this news I guess its safe to assume that EA have already started shooting the FMV's for Tiberium Wars.

Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Josh Holloway (LOST), Michael Ironside (Splinter Cell, Top Gun), Billy Dee Williams (Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back), Grace Park (Battlestar Galactica), Ivana Bozilovic (Wedding Crashers), Shauntay Hinton (Unfinished Business) make up the ensemble cast of C&C 3: Tiberium Wars, and considering their other geek-centric roles, the developer's know their audience very well.

"This is the most fun I've had since Star Wars!" said Billy Dee Williams in the announcement release. "The game's story and universe are immersive and drew me right in. I was intrigued by my character, GDI Director Redmond Boyle, because he has more depth than I expected from a video game personality.

Read the full story right here. To add that, GameSpot, have an interview with C&C 3 executive producer, Mike Verdu, on the casting of these actors.

GameSpot: Previously, lesser-known actors were used in Command & Conquer games. What went into the decision of blowing out the cast for Command & Conquer 3?

Mike Verdu: We knew from the start that we needed a very talented cast to do justice to the story for Command & Conquer 3. I believe we’ve created a story for this game that has real depth and resonance, featuring interesting and complex characters that grow and change over time, a rich world, and some truly cool moments. We wanted actors who could bring our characters and our story to life...and we found them.

In the final product, the live action will be intercut with high-end computer graphics (CG) sequences showing action on a grand scale: You’ll see the destruction of the Philadelphia, a full scale assault by Nod forces on a Blue Zone city, and a number of other scenes with an epic quality to them.

EA’s commitment to C&C shines through in the company’s support for a top flight cast, a live action shoot on multiple stages with large physical sets, and several minutes of high-end computer graphics. C&C is back in a big way.

The full interview is available here.

Woohoo! Some real news to chew on!

I'm not gonna take back what I've said, but bloody hell we've needed something like this for far too long!

Gosh dang 1up's servers are slow...

But nice news. That's quite a... diverse cast. Should be good though.

Nice move EA. Really!

You got actors from Star Wars to CNN reporters. NICE. 8)

With Joe K. behind it all, it ought to give the C&C3 the balz it needs to be a good game again. Not to mention that EA revealed a third campaign!!!

I wish that Frank Zagarino (Slavic) and James Earl Jones (Solomon) were in the cast.

I've got to be honest I only know who Michael Ironside and Billy Dee Williams are, the other people are very unfamilar.

Michael Ironside is a great choice, very unique voice (IE Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell). Good actor to. He is the one who had his arms ripped off on the elevator platform in Arnie's Totall Recall movie.

Tricia Helfer, now if i remember rightly she played the main Cylon character in Battlestar Galactica, and Grace Park was the other Cylon. that infiltrated the Battlestar.

any-who.... very good casting

oh and i hope it is not boring like Zero Hour :P

They can add all the great actors and babes they want, we all know that Joe Kucan as Kane will over shadow them all in a show stealing sort of way.

For those who have seen Starship Troopers: I hope Michael Ironside uses his acting talents in the same way as to when he played the lieutenant on Starship Troopers. 8)

"I have only one rule: You Do Your Job Or I Shoot You"

and...

Since one of the new actors is playing a part in NOD that somewhat sounds similar to Seth (TD), Kane will probably shoot him/her. LOL.

But you have to admit, C&C3 needs Frank Zagarino (Slavic)!!!

I know its not happening, but Slavic would make the perfect sidekick to keep the NODies in line.

Wow an impressive cast... of course that's what we were all thinking for TibSun... and that seemed like a waste of talent story-wise.

I hope they learned the lesson and talk to us (the player) not to each other...

And i really want a good climatic final video worthy of investing X hours into it... y'know like the orc video in WCIII.

I thought Enterprise was ok, had some good stories. Better than those other spin off Star Trek shows like Voyager and Deep Space Nine, they were snore fests

And no, I'm not a really a Star Trek fan, I just like TV shows that keep me entertained and interested for more that 10 minutes at the start.

How can you say such horrible things Sonic? Enterprise was by far the worst series for the Star Trek Brand.

Deep Space Nine, was crap for the first like three seasons, and well Voyager was about 50/50 for good eposides. But Enterprise! No, total disaster waiting to happen. ;)
