Alphabear 11 Posted February 16, 2007 The hole in the ozone layer that appeared above antarctica is no the major issue that it once was. Together the world is helping to rectify that problem. However global warming is a different issue and one that is verymuch a threat to our way of life and the natural world Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted February 16, 2007 back to topic.. ironically, i recently bought AREA 51 for PS2..its interesting.. it is logical to assume that there is intelligent life in the KNOWN universe besides us Share this post Link to post
sith_wampa 6 Posted February 16, 2007 It is also very likely that we are the only intelligent life in the universe. It took millions of years for humans to evolve on Earth. For all we know, it could take even longer for life to evolve on other planets. If there is life, its probably just microorganisms and such. Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted February 16, 2007 if i remember correctly, the universe is estimated to be around 15 billion years old...the earth is only around 4 billion... there is plenty of time for life to evolve, and even expire, on other planets in other galaxies.. also, we are carbon based...there is plenty of carbon out there...also, it is theorized that life could be silicon based...which would most likely mean that evolution would take longer for those types of life forms...but still.. it is pretty snooty to say that we are the only life forms in the UNIVERSE...even the only intelligent ones... the universe is supposedly HUUUUUUUGE...unimaginably so also, we made up the word intelligent, and we consider ourselves intelligent... if we are so intelligent why do we have trouble with things such as energy and peace and space exploration? EDIT: dont get me wrong, we may very well be the only life forms in the universe.. Share this post Link to post
JahSpoR 0 Posted February 16, 2007 Since alien life possibly would have 11 billion years to evolve, im thinking of an INVASION!!! + = ? Well... they will probably look more like eight legged cyborg killers. anyways (offtopic) I still think the end of the world would be an insane dictator with lots of nukes! sith_wampa 6 Posted February 16, 2007 If there were monsters like that out there we would most likely know that they are out there. And if they were out there, they probably would have already killed us... Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted February 17, 2007 Or they can just find us.... Anyday. Share this post Link to post
Guest Auronguardian Posted February 17, 2007 Well there is the other side of the dice, what if they arent advanced at all but actually primitive, and fears us or any other being in space? Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted February 17, 2007 no, then we enlighten them... we do not bully them,it would be against all that we have come to consider humane..if we were them and they were us, would we like to be bullied, or if the situation flips and they become better than us, should we fill them with vengence or gratitude? Luk3us 63 Posted February 17, 2007 Enlighten my ass. Humans don't enlighten ****, they conquer and convert. Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted February 17, 2007 yea you're both right we should dominate but we should be careful because the tides can turn.... Share this post Link to post
sith_wampa 6 Posted February 17, 2007 Most likely they will completely destroy us or we will completely destroy them. The chances that we are at the same point in our technological advancements are slim to none... Share this post Link to post
Guest Rabbit Posted February 17, 2007 What, so none of you believe there is ANY possibility of friendship? You think we're all just going to kill each other for the hell of it? Share this post Link to post
Guest Auronguardian Posted February 17, 2007 Umm.. well let me think... Yes. We are going to tear apart anything that we see. Share this post Link to post

TheBlackOut 7 Posted February 17, 2007 What, so none of you believe there is ANY possibility of friendship? You think we're all just going to kill each other for the hell of it? It could, but it'd be an uneasy friendship as both sides wouldn't know if they'd betray each other. Now if we were like, "Can you kill terrorism and communism?" and did that, then we'd definitely be friends! Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted February 18, 2007 Name one animal species that has ever wanted to be friends with another.we aren't animals, so how exactly is that related? :?: Share this post Link to post

F15pilotX 4 Posted February 18, 2007 not in that sense of the word, I mean we're not made the same as animals  but yes, humans can act like animals at times Share this post Link to post
